That makes me so happy to see people truly appreciate the professional level of Shinya (the drummer). Usually people talk about vocals or guitars but Shinya truly deserves the praise for his abilities. THANK you for mentioning the meaning and connecting it to such a terrible historical event. I do not see many people who do reaction videos understanding the real meaning so that makes your videos even greater. I feel all the grief and sorrow of Japanese people when I see this performance, I usually feel like I will cry in a moment. Seeing all these people in the crowd crying and being united by a common pain is an extremely hard experience to me but it make this song a real masterpiece. And Kyo's ability to portray all these emotions and to be not only a singer but an artist always amazes me. Hope you will have a nice day. It was a real pleasure to watch this video!

There's something special about seeing someone who appreciates music and has a taste for more intense music hear Dir Eng Grey for the first time. There's a lot of depth to this band, and yeah, the vocalist (even calling him that is too limiting for him) is something else. Dir En Grey is art in the truest sense. Really hope to join you on some new Dir En Grey or Sukekiyo reactions.

Wow, thank you for getting back to them so soon ^o^ What a wonderful reaction this was. And yes, you are so right about the Nagasaki and Hiroshima bombings. The sad thing is that America shows no remorse for their actions to this day and still claim this is what ended the war. There are still American soldiers stationed in Japan and the country has no say in it. Dir en grey is a Visual Kei band. They do a lot with videos, clothes, optics and so on that gives different ankles to the lyrics. This song was initially about Dublin. The title Vinushka is a made up word with russian roots probably meaning something like "guilt you have to live with for the rest of your life" in a way that you know you did terrible things and that no matter how much good you do it will never change the bad. I was thinking about this. Every soldier who takes responsibility for their own actions must feel that way no matter if the action was necessary or not right? Maybe too few do and that is why people who sit in cosy chairs far away can speak every command they want. Art should always be free. I hope there will always be enough person to fight for the freedom of art. I thought I would add a link to that sukekiyo song me and another person mentioned kzbin.info/www/bejne/qXOpeoirr6yLrMU Have a good evening ^-^

@@KARS10PEDERSEN Kyo's lyrics for Dir en grey are often written from various points of views and are about themes/feelings that speak to a majority of people but that we don't talk about. They have an other song about war that leaves out the rage and anger and has only deep sadness and emptyness in its place. It is called Hatorubi and is written in form of a traditional japanese poem. It's from their second album and really beautiful. Here is a link kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKDHlmqogLqompo Kyo, the vocalist writes all the lyrics for the band, the music for this one was mainly composed by Shinya, the drummer.

Good stuff -- really fun seeing someone with an open mind experiencing this song for the first time, especially after having heard one of their more subdued songs prior to it. For context, this song was a huge surprise when it came out. The band had been getting increasingly heavy on their last couple of records, but this marked their transition into full-on metal and had the vocalist suddenly doing proper death growls. This was 7 LPs into their career, mind you, so for them to go way heavier and proggier despite being considered a very successful rock band really shows their artistic integrity and willingness to march to the beat of whatever drum happens to move them the most. Hope to see you get more and more into them as time goes on!
