I met Guy at the BIA dolby session. He is indeed a lovely fella. He even had the good grace to answer some questions that I mailed him and he remembered me! The album sounded amazing too

KZbin just suggested this to me. Fantastic - what a lovely bloke Guy is. And super interview style, relaxed, insightful questions and most of all no interruptions while the guest is speaking! Thank you, just subscribed.

Great to hear, sometime the internet lag makes it appear, i'm cutting across but try my best to let them do the talking and not me!

Just about to watch this but thought I would say that back in 1986 Guy was on one of the first music technology magazines I ever bought (Sound On Sound) and I can recall lots of that interview even 40 years on... he was young and fresh faced back then and talking about DX1s, Atari ST's and Steinberg 24... time has flown!

Well done on such an amazing interview. Even after all the Years of Guy’s success both before during Dire Straits & working with Mark Knopler in a solo artist capacity. He’s still carries himself, with a great down to earth & humble attitude 🙏

@@thegodcast5878 you’re welcome. I’m so glad that I’ve come across your channel. It’s a shame to hear that Mark’s 2019 tour was his last. Glad that I saw him once though. On the Shangri La tour in 2005. Trust he’ll continue to record into the Future🙏

Watch John Rich's interview with Tucker Carlson. I'd love to see you interview him as a UK based interviewer.

What does Guy mean when he speaks about "atmos" ?
@TobyFinkNottle2 ай бұрын
You add extra channels for surround sound.
@ArchitectureguyАй бұрын
Dolby Atmos is a type of surround sound that is considered object oriented rather than speaker oriented...I'm sure that's an oversimplification, but if you watch a movie in a good Dolby Atmos theater, the sounds are overhead and a good mix localizes those sounds in a very realistic way (rain, helicopters overhead, etc.). If you have Apple Music, some albums are in Dolby Atmos and, while I still prefer stereo, it can be an exciting experience.
