That's a pedal steel guitar, played by one of the best in the world, Paul Franklin. Keep checking out the music of Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler, the man is one of a kind.

The minute I saw the picture of Mark holding the Gibson Archtop guitar I knew what the song would be and the performance we'd get. Chris White on the sax was hauntingly good. Paul Franklin on the steel guitar often plays with the band especially on stage sublime. The bongo intro leading into the sax solo genius! Mark Knopfler singer, songwriter, composer and musical arranger. Talented man. Talented band. Great choice. Great review!

This “boy” is almost 74 years old now and I still love him, like when he was in Dire Straits. Listens to some songs from his solo repertoire, like Go Love or Wherever I Go, Silvertown Blues, Speedway at Nazareth, What it is, Terminal Of Tribute To …… .they are all beautiful 😍

Dire Straits are my all time favourite band, Mark is a music genious and magical guitar player. I love your reactions e and I´m looking forward to see your reaction to their bigest masterpiece - Telegraph road (from Alchemy, specially). Bring a bag of wipe tissue! :)
