You nailed it!... “it just makes you want to move and dance around” and makes you “happy.” You captured the essence of this song! This was from back in the day when I would go to dances at my small college. Was calling it a night this one time, already 50 feet outside the building, when even through the closed windows I heard this song come on... and I just HAD to turn around and go back in and dance! Really a fun joyous song, my personal favorite of theirs.

My mom was not a rock fan by any stretch of the imagination, but she absolutely loved the music video to this song. Sadly, she passed in February of 2012, but hearing this song always makes me smile as I recall how she would laugh at the video.😊

I have never seen this video before, it must have been made for American audiences. The original British video has nothing to do with American sports. If you watch it you will see Dire Straits in concert and scenes from a London underground station.

If I'm not mistaken the guy playing to the left of Mark is his brother David. They founded the band together.

His brother David left the band years before. The bass player is John Illsley, one of the original founding members. The other guitar player is Jack Sonni.

I absolutely love this song. I love the song, the music, the sports bloopers in the background, I love how much fun the band is having, jamming and dancing with each other. Most of all, I love the freeze frame of Mark Knopfler at the end of the video: that smile....he looks completely content. Best Picture Ever.

This was their biggest hit, from the brilliant Brothers In Arms album. The old woman clapping hands in the one scene in this video was a legend in my hometown of San Antonio. She had a front row season ticket at San Antonio Spurs games at the old HemisFair Arena for years. We all called her "Granny Spur"!

I find Dire Straits relaxes me which is perhaps strange but I get lost in their music. Terry and I listen to one of their live shows here on KZbin if we are unsettled and want to sleep, it works everytime lil. You're right about getting us and dancing, I can't sit still to this and I love the video of the sports blunders, they make me laugh. Everything Dire Straits has done is good, but the track that I find has the most atmosphere is one of their slower numbers "Private Investigations". It is I think their masterpiece.
