Holy cow. That tone. Those chords making six sings sing like a much wider guitar. You did an amazing job with the arrangement. Bravo, really appreciate you sharing.

I really love all the masterful work you do with the bendings! Could you please make a tutorial with all the ones you are using?? I always try to emulate the pedal steel with my guitar and your approach is the closest to the real sound! I would love to learn some of those you do and I am pausing the video but it is not enough, the song goes fast. Thank you man!

How do you get this tone?

This is awesome! Would you mind sharing your guitar and amp settings? It looks and sounds like that you are playing out of the middle position on your guitar. What is your volume and tone control at? Thanks and I absolutely love petal steel riffs on the Tele!
@mattrae67063 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jason. I’m on the neck pick up, volume and tone all the way up. I’m using a volume pedal but only on some licks. Playing through a Dr. Z and using an analogman compressor. Hope that helps and feel free to ask questions anytime. I’m a full time online guitar instructor and specialize in this style!
@jasonkasprick63703 жыл бұрын
@@mattrae6706 Thank you so much for the response! I would have thought there was some bridge pickup twang in there! I will have to try the neck pick-up. I'm 48 years old and I have been playing guitar off and on from age 16 and I am getting back into now after finally understanding how the CAGED system works and being able to understand how chords are put together and soloing works up and down the fretboard. I have also discovered Clarence White and his work with the Byrds so I am obviously obsessed now with bending like a steel guitar. By the way, thank you so much for your "Teach Your Children Well" lesson. That is GOLDEN!

@@mattrae6706 Neck pickup??? Is your selector reversed? Masterful playing!!! Trying to cop some of these licks!
@mattrae67063 жыл бұрын
@@Swingtime-pn7gy thank you! I’m on the bridge pickup. It’s hard to see but the selector on the treble side. I always play through my Analogman KOT to boost the mids and lows and a volume pedal to take off a little attack.
@STSGuitar165 жыл бұрын
That high harmonic at 1:32 though....great stuff. Is this a B or G bender tele or are you using some sort of pedal to get the pedal steel effect?
@mattrae67065 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I’m not using any benders and am using a volume pedal.
@STSGuitar165 жыл бұрын
