you definitely want to try this pack on to see if you like the feel, the pack is awesomely built and is almost perfect but the foam that goes against your back is too stiff...if you wear this pack with a t-shirt on beware it will feel like 2 - 2x4 pieces of wood providing cushion after 5 miles of hiking with 15 lbs in it....they should have access to remove or change the padding

Thorough review. Helikon Tex who own DA are a cool company. Quite popular in the UK and being Polish means we get a lot of their clothes at a decent price. Bit like this bag, good on features without costing big bucks (for here anyway). Hope they do well in the USA market.

👍🏼🤔 becoming like my wife, except she like luxury handbags and i like tactical packs. My fist was a Blackhawk R.A.P.T.O.R. Pack which was a knock off the LBT packed issued to 75th Ranger Regiment Soldiers in the later 90s. Pre-MOLLE. Keep up the great work. Find the reviews very informative. Blessedly there’s one 5.11 store in New England and it’s within driving distance (60 miles).

Gideon; extremely good review on what appears to be one sweet pack, especially in the smaller sized packs. Have you done a review on the Ghost? I find myself betwixt & between on the Dragon Egg vs. the Ghost? Either one is excellent, but I prefer the shoulder straps on the Dragon Egg over the Ghost...but that's not a real big deal. However, I wish Direct Action would have used the same Waist Belt on the Ghost ... But on the Dragon Egg. I know the Dragon Egg doesn't require such a robust Waist Belt but if it were removable like on the Ghost, you'd have the best of both worlds. Do you think Direct Action would sell that Ghost Waist Belt separately so I could attach (someway?) on the Dragon Egg? You do excellent reviews and have been following them for years. Keep up the great reviews and continued success‼️William ~

Man, I just bought a maxpedition kodiak a few months ago. I like the bag and the whole concept of it but damn. It is soo uncomfortable . It's ok with about 12 pounds or so. It would kill me on a day hike. Does this bag do any better ? With weight ? On a day hike ? Thanks.
@gideonstactical8 жыл бұрын
I hiked a lot with it, it is good and better then most tactical bags. But try comfort comes from backpacks like Gregory, Ketly, Mountainsmith, Osprey. They are more comfortable by a long shot.

I personally own a Camelbak 3 day pack. I saw a lot of reviews on the 5.11 Rush 12. In your opinion, which among the 3 would be a perfect fit as an EDC in mainly urban/city environment? BTW, my name is Aaron too...hehehe

It’s me from 5 years later 😂 Wondering which one you ended up buying? Bought the Rush12 AND the DA DE and I am switching constantly, as I can’t decide xD
@octavianm31662 жыл бұрын
@@starfox-germany Maybe you can help me hahaha Im looking for a edc pack that doubles as a comfortable hiking pack that can carry a lot, do you recommend the DA DE?
@starfox-germany2 жыл бұрын
@@octavianm3166 Well.. it depends. My favorite was the 5.11 Rush 12. Its just that I use to sweat a lot on my back, wearing it. I also sweat when using the DE, just not as much as with the R12. If sweating is not a problem for you, you will get a fantastic backpack. It is perfect for EDC but I wouldn't want to carry an expensive laptop inside. But you have to be aware that it comes with some weight. Its super robust, perfect quality, great compartments. I especially like the outside bottle holders as they kind of disappear when you don't use them. But - I will be honest - the DE is more of a bushcraft or forest backpack. I also wanted to use it for hiking and EDC but because of the sweating I got myself the Vaude Wizard 24+4 which is a fantastic backpack as well. No sweating anymore, enough space and in case I need to take more items with me when hiking, I can expand it from 24 to 28 liters. The Vaude became my new daily driver and its so comfortable, that I started to EDC some items that I only packed when hiking in the past. Again: DE is a perfect bag, but for hiking I would choose something from Vaude, Deuter or Osprey.
