I always say the strap drives and just kinda laughed them off. But I saw the direct drives like a 4th grader looking at high school kids. Weird to learn a lot of people are saying the strap is better.

Disagree....maybe if you are generic metal drummer only after speed but for a player requiring dynamic control when playing grooves personally I prefer a single chain simple pedal. I have dw5000 from the late 80s/early 90s still going strong, no issues and is quick too, I also have a premier from my 18th birthday (42 nearly) cost £27 and is awesome...simple minimal adjustments but are comfortable to use. Direct is awkward, too connected, it feels like when it controls me not me it so to speak.

If you watch the video you’ll see that I’m saying direct drive is NOT better. It’s the fact that everyone believes it’s better that I’m showing to be wrong. I do like direct drive and don’t think they’re only for generic metal drummers (J R Robinson springs to mind) but they aren’t smoother or faster than the strap drives is the point of the video. Personally I prefer strap drive for the best of both worlds.

@@sega.milkis when the Video is called DIRECT DRIVE IS BETTER!! and it opens with that statement i had to voice my opinion and experiences, in fact it frustrated me that much, that i couldn't be bothered to watch it... of course the speed hungry, creativity lacking generic metal guys love the direct stuff (anything to make them feel and play better i guess) but sometimes simplicity in a product is all that is required.

@@Rockinroomsrobwell how about you tell yourself that some people who don’t play metal also uses DD too??? no hate against Chain or Strap drive but cmon man the moment you say DD is awkward how bout you tell yourself that it is awkward for YOU

@@riyuiwashere I never said they don't, but many metal guys do use direct drive as they believe they are better...buddy rich was quick on the early pedals, it's more about technique than the pedal for me...Personally, like I said, I prefer a simple pedal, single chain, no adjust bits.
