Direct EMU Train from Santragachi to Sealdah Div.!! Joint Inspection by SER & ER

Railway examine the feasibility of EMU service between South Eastern Railway and Eastern Railway.
On 17 May 2019, a joint inspection done by SER and ER officials.
The two coaches inspection car started from Santragachi, and went through Ramrajatala - Dasnagar - Tikiapara - Liluah - Belur - Bally - Belanagar - Rajchandrapur - Dumdum - Kolkata - Majherhat - Ballygunge - Park Circus - Sir Gurudas Banerjee Halt - Bidhannagar Road - Dumdum - Rajchandrapur - Bhattanagar - Balitikuri - Bankranayabaz - Santragachi.

It is most awaited EMU route. It's very much needed. Thanks to ER and SER for trial run. All trains should run via BNTG, BALT and BKNM because it's a new convenient and time saving route also people of Bhattanagar and Baltikuri will be benefited, ER should make platform at BNTG and SER should make platform at BALT, at least 3 pair of EMU local should be run daily basis. One in the early morning from SDAH at 5 am and back from SRC at 6:30 or 7 am, another one from SDAH at 10 am and back from SRC at 11:30 am or 12 noon and last one is from SDAH at 7:40 or 7:45 pm and back from SRC at 9 pm.

Why Santragachi, why not Howrah -Sealdah direct EMU locals, and preferably some galloping ones. Will earn far more revenue than a Sealdah Santragachi connection. Besides the local should take the shortest route via Dum Dum Bidhan Nagar to Sealdah. What is the point of taking passengers on a time consuming "conducted tour" through Majherhat, Ballygunge, spending at least 45 extra minutes?

Satragachi Sealdah EMU sevice can easily be started but no one has headache about this. Satragachi already has difficulty in handling its additional traffic load, how can it handle the load of Sealdah-bound trains, be it operated by ER or SER. With 2 to 3 new platforms coming up into service, if the authorities give a concern to it, thousands of commuters will be benefitted.

I wished emu service would run between SDAH and SRC. I have a relative who lives in SRC and this service would have been perfect. But due to Sealdah Metro being operational already and Howrah metro under construction, I dont think this will happen 😔 Edit : Sealdah - Santragachi bus is also a service that is much faster than train just because it has a direct route. Sealdah - Howrah emu service stopped because of this reason that bus is much faster and thus passengers were below acceptable level.

Route from Santragachi via Bakranayabaaz, Baltikuri Jn, Bhatta Nagar, Rajchandrapur, Bally Halt, Bally Ghat, Dakshineswar, Baranagar Rd, Dumdum Jn, Bidhan Nagar Rd to Sealdah. What's about this route? Do you think it's feasible? Few years back there was a train from HWH to SDAH , can you share the route please.

It's been 3 years the inspection is conducted. But the service of emu local train is yet not started... This line will benefitt many passangers.

Still no train from sealdah to satragachi.but line is available,its need.sealdah to satragachi or andul ,but this route is not good ,Andul or satragachi to sealdah via bhattanagar ,rajchardrapur,bally halt ,dakhineswar dum dum will be better

Another rail bridge should be built across the river, south of Howrah Bridge. This will eliminate the need of the huge detour the trains from south have to take to reach Sealdah.

Excellent coverage, as per I can remember there used to be an EMU service in between HWH & SDAH. I don't know whether it is still running or not. Dada, Do have any news of bauria budge budge project? Does it have any feasibility? Because metro tunnel already done under Ganges though I don't know whether it is using third rail concept or using pantograph.

@@aban2423 Ofcourse there should be!!! A local link to connect the city and Eastern Railways with the city western suburb of South-Eastern Railways is necessary!!! The only problem is that they will have to skip Dankuni Station...else they need to construct a new line...also there should be a train to go from Howrah Jn Station to Sealdah Station!...

Eta ki presently running?!, but we have no information, please confirm, if so it would be very helpful for sealdha south section passengers, my another request to Rail Authority please connect directly Sealdha south with Howrah main and chord, as an example, from Budge Budge to Dankuni, which will join both main nd chord same from Baruiur nd etc.
