Sir, exceelent video. Iam a retired Railway man. Seeing those videos relating to 1992, I went down the memory lane. Seeing those three platforms meant for Broad gauge trains and six platforms for Metre gauge trains, one beside the other just goaded me to relive those glorious era. Struggling to express my feelings and emotions. Thanks a million.

Nostalgic memories! Am just 60 now and remember the days when i used to travel by steam local trains to and fro from Malakpet to Secunderabad in the early 70's to St.Johns School and this lovely video brought home the fact that not much had changed in the platforms layout as trains enter from Rail Nilayam side. My father was also a railway official in the SCR and boy, he would humour me with all my innocent / ignorant queries about engines, coaches, tracks and what you have! Thanks for uploading such a lovely compilation of a bygone era of our beautiful railways! Now, it all style, speed and swachatta, ha ha !!

Wonderful video coverage of Secunderabad. I was born in 1992 and my Dad was working as a Loco pilot in the same Secunderabad Division till 2000. Was very fond of trains during the kid old days and I used to travel with my Dad after his duty in WAM4 and WAP4/WAP1 from Secunderabad to Hyderabad (Nampally) and from Hyderabad (Nampally) to Secunderabad (just for a small trip probably during the summer vacations in 1996/97). And currently as my Dad is no more, I literally cherish those good old memories and gone are those golden days which I can only think of. Real salute to my Dad who worked in all the three phases of the locomotives - Steam, Diesel and Electric. Not only him, but salute to all the workers of those times who worked as a Loco pilot because it wasn't that easy and comfortable working in all the 3 locomotive phases (especially Steam) as it is now with advance in technology.

Im born in 2006 I'm shock to see the use of steam engine in India until 1992 while many countries including China end the use of it before 1980s nowadays Indian railway is improving it rail system introducing new train made by ICF and sometimes private company both foreign and domestic one's. And also having a target of improving the rail safety in the future. Indian railway still have long way to improve and become the best or meeting international standard. Hope for a good future of indian railway

Great old video, use to travel from Hyderabad/Secunderabad to Delhi as a child but never seen steam. The electrification was only till kazipet and the engines get shifted to diesel at kazipet. The IR is still having same schedules since 1990s, only change of names. The trains used to be always on time not like in todays time where every train runs late by hours.

Wished we had the video gadgets as of today then. 1992 was already half way through to modernisation. YDMs replacing YPs, WDMs replacing WPs. The best of the beautiful steam beasts were in their twilight zone. Railway school kid. Only fascination was to watch and admire the chugging beauties. CWD, AWD, XD, XB WG, WP on the BG line and YG YP on the MG. SCR boasted of having the largest line expanse in MG in India. President Special used to be the most decorated and celebrated Steam train WP driven. Jaal Bommanji and Footman and Jumping Ismail were the most celebrated A Grade Special drivers. Bommanji was chosen the Inaugural Driver for the Coveted Golconda Express. Oh Boy, 11.30 it used it used to blaze in full glory of smoke and steam. What a lovely sight. I haven't seen such a beauty after that in my life. Same time MG Manmad express used to chug away through North Lallaguda Theshan. I can go on, no end when discussing the Railways. Grew up watching. As a tribute to my endless love for the Railways, I plant trees around the Railway ground whenever I am vacationing in India
