Federal law requires banks to refund money that is stolen through identity theft, hacking, or unauthorized use. If you dispute the charges within the time required by law, the bank has to refund your money no later than 45 days after receiving your dispute. If Direct Express has refused to refund money lost to unauthorized transactions, you need to talk to a lawyer.

Glad I seen your video.yesterday 4/1/22 I got my ssi deposit and about 12 pm I checked my phone app and someone took 203.00 at a atm at Wells Fargo so I called the 1800 number to report it and I rushed to Bank of America to take out all the money in my card before the thieves steal more of my money ..I reported and I’m waiting for my new card and than I waited about 1hr to talk to the dispute claim department so I went to the well Fargo bank to let them know someone somehow took 203.00 from me in their bank and they couldn’t do nothing to help me ..and claims said it can take 45 days and I got to mail a form back . I don’t understand how they stole 203.00 from me.my card I keep it at home and never use it only to pay rent and my utility bills

My Credit card was hit a few years ago And, I reported it to the local police department, and gave them the list of fraudulent cash actions that were made after that the officer in charge to do my case, Never did anything, my funds are still missing from 3 years ago and I did report it, I think that Direct Express, is a fraudulent company ripping off people, and even a new card it will still be the same, and Comerica bank is affiliated with it Yet when I asked the Bank Teller, about the Direct Express, how Comerica name on the card, she told me they don't have anything to do with the card, so I'm closing my bank account their, I don't trust them anymore..

Are you still helping victims of fraud through direct express? I did everything I was supposed to do and I am being told my claim was denied after they supposedly investigated it! They couldn't of investigated it because I didn't make nor authorize anyone else to make the charges in question so if they properly investigated it they would see that. I don't know where else to turn, I even tried to have my local news station cover it since back in 2019 another news station covered a class action lawsuit against Direct Express for this same type of issue, however I haven't heard back from them yet. If you don't handle this anymore would you be able to direct me to someone that does? I appreciate your time and effort you put into even reading my complaint. I hope to hear back from you at your earliest convenience.

I am in CA I didn't not realize this was happening to my account over time I am crazy overwhelmed trying to get my building sold by myself as I am a widow ....whoever is behind this they were smart and did not make huge withdrawals they were slow and sneaky but it's over 10k I will admit I should have checked on my account but like I said I am drowning in getting rid of garbage and furniture left behind by tenants that turned into squatters , sorry rambling..so this was over about 3 months and it's a holiday weekend I did send an email to document that I found this out . Are the protection laws the same in CA do you happen to know internet is so wishy washy with the answers. Thank you in advance for any info you can provide.😢😢😢

The Electronic Fund Transfers Act is a federal law, so its protections apply to all consumer accounts in the country. California law may offer additional protections, though.

How can I receive paper statements each month for myself and my mother? I am a payee of my mothers money. She also needs a paper statement each and every month. Showing exactly where her money is going. Please help. There have been a few discrepancies. With some one taking money off her card. Nobody has access to the card except myself. Unless I'm with her and all her bills have been paid. She goes like shopping for shoes. And so I'm always with her nobody else has access to the direct express card. This is getting crazy ridiculous . her bills come first. Rent. Utilities. Vehicle insurance. And burial insurance . plus she needs her hygienes and essentials . no body has the right to just withdraw money off her account or buy things with it . its not their card or money. This is why I'm requesting a monthly paper statement please. For myself and my mother. I am legally her payee. Please , can you help ??

Open a bank account somewhere else and have the bank to have your funds to deposit it there instead. The bank will automatically close your direct express account I think. Either case your money should be safe. You might have a virus on your phone or computer that needs to be removed too. I only use my direct express card to make withdrawals at a bank. Then I make the deposit into another bank account that I use for shopping and pay bills.

They took over 1,100 from my account. It was so 9bviously stolen. Gyms in Croatia and India a supermarket in Glasgow. Just blew my money all over the world. I get less than 600. a month. I pay my little bills, gas and food. I'm always broke in the first 10 days of the month. They refuse to give my money back. I need help.

Unfortunately, lawyers do not have the ability to make banks do right by their customers. All we can do is help people enforce their legal rights. If you have not been able to dispute by telephone, there is nothing stopping you from sending them a letter.

They froze my account because they needed to verify me! After submitting my documents to them, they said that wasn't good enough. They gave me no further information on how to get verified again. I have been with them for 15 years. Now I might be evicted because my money is just sitting there. Fraud department and customer service either leave me on hold or immediately hang up on me. They locked our card and asked us to verify too. We did sent the documents and still they say that they can't verify us. I dont know what to do. They owe us over 6000 dollars. And they can't even find us in their system anymore under our social security number.

@@ajsmitten2819 I had to go toy local Social Security office and it took them about 2 business days to contact Comerica bank to unlock my account. This was the only way I was able to retrieve my funds
