Streaming did not fix piracy. iTunes singlehandedly diminished piracy by making music easy to get for a fixed price. But consumers still PAID for the music. iTunes saved the majors. Streaming has only helped to make the majors rich.

"we shouldn't limit access to art" i'm on the fence with this because we make it for others to enjoy which is 100% true but I can't just walk into a show on broadway and do the museum model of "pay what you can afford" either. My big brain ain't figured this one out yet.

I agree with where you’re coming but there’s also off-broadway shows that allow you to see up and coming actors at a reasonable cost.

@@NefertitiGoldno I get that and have been to many, even stayed through the ones that sucked... I guess i did a bad job of explaining that we should be paid fairly for the work that goes into making the music, even if its all one person from start to finish, it's still the experience and time that went into it. other "art" that's not music doesn't have to rely on a tour and merchandising to be profitable the same way recording artist have to.

I Think That Your Approach Is A Solid Approach Because You Have Different Access Points For Buyers To purchase Your Music And Products...And You Also Have A Manager To Help Out With That..I Don't Know To Much About How Streaming Services Work..But I Think That Artist Should Use What Works For Them And If The The Outcome Is Not What They Expected They Should Try A Different Approach...And It Also Goes With Something You Talked About In Your Last Video... Consistency.. Just Being Consistent With Marketing Your Content...And Always Try To Find New Ways To Make Your Content Available For Buyers... Have You Ever Tried Our Thought About Ghost Writing...

I agree with your points. It's going to always come down to making sure you do what's best for yourself because what works for a group may not work for the individual. And having different entry points tends to be a good way to convert casual listeners to super fans, you just have to be willing to be patient enough for that to happen. And to answer your last question, I haven't weighed in on ghost writing but I'm sure I can muster up my $0.02 to share lol.

@@NefertitiGold Yes Definitely Have To Have Patients...I Was Searching For Some Studio Monitoring Headphones Yesterday For Under A Hundred Dollars And Thought About Asking You For Suggestions Seeing As Tho You Purchase And Like To Give Feedback On Gear...But I Decided To Go With Some Mackie MC-100 They Cost Me 30 Bucks...I Will Give Them A Try And See How They Do...Peace..And Stay Creative..

@@darylbanks7790I see this type of typing a lot and have yet to have someone explain to me how and why they do it. Are you shifting every first letter of the word like its a title? Is it to stand out but less aggressive than CAPS? Seems time consuming and of a certain generation, so don't mind me i'm seriously just curious

100 percent facts! all online advertising has only a 3 percent conversion rate! so if you think you can make it on only 3 percent of your audience paying for your content then good luck! nobodys saying you cant make money! but can you making a living with just direct to consumer! your the only one telling the truth right now!

The problem with D2C is you're asking your audience to change how they listen. If we think about likes and views to the actual number of subscribers here on youtube, two actions that cost nothing but a little bit of time and we think that number doesn't translate to how many actually purchase the monthly patreon. How the number of views a trailer gets doesn't reflect how many will leave home to watch it vs those who will look for a link to it online. There's still people in Harlem pushing burned DVD's so there's a market. The industry made music seem worthless by offering it for $10-$20 a month for unlimited access to every song uploaded you can think of. As an artist and consumer of music I still have 2 iTunes credits I haven't cashed out yet because im already paying Spotify and Tidal monthly
