This is the "Talking Head" version of this topic, including three examples.
I have posted three versions of this topic (1.Annotated Tablet, 2.Talking Head, 3. Chalkboard) and I'm interested to learn which version people find most useful.

This is very useful. I am so used to cubic systems and i thought the ease would transfer across. This systematic approach fixed my head a little. Thank you.

This video was very helpful! Thank you for your post :) I think I like the annotated tablet better, or the video with a white background. It is easier to understand. I do like how you show your face in the video too, but the transition is kind of abrupt. Maybe a fade or if you greenscreen your body in a corner I think it would be better. We can still see you talk, but at the same time not get distracted by the face changes

in 2:41 you constructed a cubic unit cell to represent a vector that's originally in a parallelepiped, why? aren't the dimensions different for each of the two structures ?

I think it's because what he means by "easy math" is that these expressions are pre-defined, so you just need to substitute the "temporary " 3 index values to convert it into 4- index values ...

namaste sir, while drawing a cube in hexagon, u mistook 120 degree to 90 degree, i guess.
@soumyadeepkarmakar9333
@soumyadeepkarmakar9333 2 жыл бұрын
Here, the a1 and a2 axes, though separated by 120 degree, have been assumed to be perpendicular so that a1, a2 and z axes can be considered orthogonal. It's just an assumption, and not exactly accurate. That's why the three axis indices system here is temporary. So, the action is deliberate. Hope it helps.
