I have to wonder that with Eddie Murphy making an actual comeback this time and the news of Beverly Hills Cop 4...if Landis recalls his feud with Eddie when they were filming Beverly Hills Cop 3. As I recall both of them had different views on how Axel Foley should be played, Eddie wanted the character to be mature and serious.
@DefSquadFan
@DefSquadFan 5 жыл бұрын
Eddie said their fight had nothing to do with the movie. I don't know who to believe. I do know that eddie wanted to be more serious like "Clark Gable" as he puts it, in his movies that's why his movies don't have the same comedy after Beverly Hills Cop 2. If you look at Harlem Nights, Boomerang, Cop 3, Metro he's more of a straight action guy like stallone. Not a lot of smiling and physical comedy. The only time he goes all out is when he is in prosthetics. It's like he doesn't want people laughing at him when he looks like himself on screen. So where did you hear that about the Axel Foley character? Is that factual?

@@DefSquadFan Basically I recall originally Beverly Hills Cop 1 was going to be a Stallone movie before Stallone ended up doing Cobra which was his darker/grittier version of it, what I recall about the Landis/Murphy debacle was that Landis still wanted 3 to be a comedy while Eddie wanted the character to be more mature as compared to how he was in previous installments.

@@Covid-me1xf John Landis and the production totally failed. It's despicable to lay the blame on the parents who were novices and immigrants at the time for this tragedy. The two child actors were hired in violation of California law, which prohibits child actors from working at night or in proximity to explosions, and requires the presence of a teacher or social worker. California did not allow children to work at night. Landis opted not to seek a waiver. The casting agents were unaware that the children would be involved in the scene. Associate producer George Folsey, Jr. told the children's parents not to tell any firefighters on set that the children were part of the scene, and also hid them from a fire safety officer who also worked as a welfare worker. The parents were manipulated and duped because they knew nothing of the American movie industry. John Landis was the director and he and the producers knew what they were doing was wrong. The blood of those children is on his hands.

How does the way he look affect you🤔🤔🤔just rude for no reason and saying someone is weird is so insulting Michael was different but in so a unique way the problem is that genuine people are a problem in society

Yeah like the special effects in AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON (1981) are as good as THE THING (2011). Practical effects will always be better and more effective and more realistic than CGI.

He may be a master of cinema, but like many other people in history who have done big things, he's a narcissist. Just listen to his tone, in this and other interviews. Let alone the whole Twilight Zone tragedy. Sadly, this is part of the human condition. Terrible people do great things, and are rewarded for it.

@Trend101Warrior Landis didn't hire them, the line producer did. People seem to forget that four other people were charged and tried along with Landis. The helicopter pilot didn't have to go lower when Landis wanted him to. The special effects coordinator didn't have to detonate the charge at the wrong time, etc.

This is the third John Landis interview I've clicked on this week where the video in parts is frozen while the audio continues on, making things even more confusing. They never get fixed, which would be simple, and so now it looks like someone is hacking them. As could be guessed, the very unoriginal areas of the Hollywood community very much fear very original lone wolf types like Landis. So they wish to discourage viewers from studying videos featuring such controversial industry insider material.
