It’s really not that simple to answer in Yes and No. But he did gave valid inputs in terms that you can do basic sciences and use AI tools to make most of the impact. AI has become more of a new age programming skill, which is a tool to build things.

most of the google employees I have personally talked to on linkedin and stuff always say that a fresher's degree is seen first and then rest of the things later, so yes a degree from a good university matters alot unfortunately
