Blackcoat's Daughter is a fantastic film. It's for those who appreciate a smart, intense, slow burn film that requires attention and moderate intelligence. It rewards multiple viewings.

He’s so handsome!! I had a huge crush on his father ! He looks just like his mother ! He and his brother Elvis had much tragedy in life losing the dad and mother in such a terrible way.

I know it’s like his parents death could have been prevented. His father died of AIDS and his mother died in the 9/21 attacks. 😞

He would know about horror films, he's a very intelligent, talented, actor/writer/director like his father, Anthony Perkins. I can see so much of Tony in him, but he has his mother's eyes and jaw.

Indubitably ! I can see both his father & his mother in his features. He's no Huntz Hall but he's a very handsome young man.

I'm glad he went indie, because this film was a masterpiece. Mad respect, Oz. It's tied for my favorite with Midsommar and Suspiria. He talks about what's unsaid, unseen, etc. I totally agree with that aesthetic. This film had a very Lacanian flavor to me.

That has me intrigued about Suspriria, are you talking about the original or the remake? Midsommar, Blackcoat's Daughter, and Onibaba are my favorites in the genre so far. I think they're masterpieces especially for how they handle the characters' emotions.

I loved "Febryary", and "The Pretty Thing...". Basically, I loved two films out of two from one director, in others words 100% :))

I have to say I really love this film. Its feeling is so atmospheric, the direction very open-ended, the satanic activity is underscored yet omniscient and very creepy(fav way to protray), music beautiful and haunting, acting is realistic, shots are mundane, overly dark and kinda depressing. Really love the overall ideas and character arcs. I feel like the film somewhat falls short with how it tells the story. It feels like it's attempts to intentionally misdirect the audience gets pretty slapdash towards the end. I'm all for more complex ways of telling stories, and for me this movie really works after a couple of watches. I just feel like if they dialled back all the sporadic time jumps and put a little more emphasis on Kat's loneliness, this film would be a true masterpiece. Overall big fan and feel like its a shame more people aren't vocal fans of the film

Blackcoat’s Daughter was a let down. There was a lot to like about the film but I left it just not caring. Maybe I just didn’t get it but it just felt bare.

this film is unwatchable, horrible, Confusing, no clear idea of who the characters are, what has happened or when it happened, absolutely nothing ties together, dont waste your time..And You cant see ANYTHING..there's a term called 'crushing the blacks", OZ not only crushed the shit out of them, he did it to a point to where you can't see a damn thing!..even the daylight shots are DARK..ease up on the blacks, use a little contrast or just brighten up the shot, Lauren Holly was in this movie but ill have to take their word for it because its soooo dark you cant see her face clearly enough to make out who it is, it could be Whoopi Goldberg for all you can see, damn. And the twist at the end?, shes posessed? Haha, where the hell did that come from?,.OMG..This movie should be shown in Every film school as how to NOT make a film, it covers all the bases..

The twist at the end is not her being possessed you can tell shes possessed from the halfway point in the movie, the twist is the fact that Joan and kat are the same person.....you really need to watch this movie again or at least a review

@@metalmusic3171 problem is the director expects the audience to be intelligent to understand an emotional story but he left out all emotion. no character depth, no visual sound effects in important moments, the before mentioned darkness/ silence overkill. there is no reason for us to care that she is posessed in the first place. if you leave out this much and the story still doesn't add up at times it should be a film school example for lazy writing
