Hi Roscoe. 👋 The mv for this is beautiful but heartbreaking. Suga/August D is one amazing story teller. I recommend having a box of tissues on standby when you watch it. 🫂💜

The music video is a must. It connects and binds so many things together we have been just guessing until now. When I heard the song the very first time, I was a little confused, the sudden switch after his mellow gorgeous opening threw me off, but because I know Yoongi I knew there was a reason behind it. I re-listened and it started to make sense. Then I opened lyrics and I couldn´t stop crying. Now I am in love with the song. Its an artistic masterpiece and he is such an incredible story builder. His story telling never feels pretentious, conceited or fake, it touches soul and open hearts. It connects and comforts. Can´t get enough of him.

This is my favorite song... bring tissue to watch the music video. It wrecked me and had me ugly crying. The video adds self harm and suicide attempts into the things that happened. I can't wait to see this live tomorrow...yes, bringing tissues to the concert! 💜

During Suga's documentary which is a MUST SEE he shares information we never knew since now. He's been keeping secrets. Understandingly so. We find out when and where he wrote "Haegeum" and "Amygdala ". We find out he planned a trilogy from the very beginning. Before he dropped "Daechwita". I was surprised. You haven't seen the location because you haven't watched that video yet. Most of Army has. When we see the location on the documentary we immediately know when and where he wrote these songs. Again, watch the documentary. I understand his genius so much more. I understand him as a person and human being so much more. I won't give away spoilers. But I can share another reason to watch it...he shares live performances with live bands of songs from his D-Day album. Amazing! The most heartwarming thing I learned is why the he has such an emotional connection to his song "People, Pt.2". Also ...just dropped..RM interviewing Suga on Suga's own TV show. A turn around. RM was good. Again, more surprising info from Suga, the wise Ole sage.

I absolutely concur, Yoongi, is literally a musical GENIUS and a great singer. His voice and his music really knows how to convey and evoke emotions that he creates. Not many artist can do that consecutively with their productions. Like you, I also like to listen to the song initially to get the feels and then, look into the lyrics and the mv. And this song, the way Yoongi sang and how his voice reverberated really made me feel the pain and my heart feel tight. It's such a powerful song that any body whose been through pain can relate. To me, aside from the tears, my heart just hurts when I listen to this song. Still AMYGDALA and SDL are my top favorites on this album. Two very contrasting songs. If AMYGDALA kills me, SDL resurrects me. Another proof that Yoongi is also a production GENIUS! Love your views and analysis Capt!💜

Thank you for this reaction, Roscoe. Profound and intense, as this heart-rending song deserves. Yoongi gives his pain and hope full rein in his music, it devastates you. I think pouring it all out in his songs enables Yoongi to be centred, calm and capable of the humour and caring that we see in their other content, especially in his show Suchwita. Sending you telepathic reinforcement, you'll need it for your reaction to the mv.

Long time Roscoe! This is my favorite in the album. I’ve been racking my brain to find out why those first guitar chords sound so familiar and visceral for me. I thought I heard it in some Metallica or Black Sabbath song, or maybe some country song I’ve heard before but I don’t know!!!

@Roscoe, please tell me why you did not react to the official music video of Amygdala? If you would have done a reaction to the music video as well as the lyrics you could’ve done a connection visually connected to the lyrics and the atmosphere that was in the music video so that you could describe to us your Director point of view! Sometimes words are not enough in order to get a full picture but a music video with the lyrics then you can do the whole breakdown that would’ve been awesome! So I ask you To please give The official music video your Full attention! Thank you 💜🙏🏼

I like to hear the music by itself first; I want to see what messages I can get by merely the audio. Then I will usually look at the lyrics afterwards to see what matches. Also, I don't believe a lyric video was available at this point so early... it was literally only translations from Twitter.

I think his father was/is abusive and his mom was/is not the fight back fight back type and as a parent, may have had, what they call in the psychiatry community, "fleas", where she behaved towards YoonGi, the way she was treated by her husband. His father may be a low functioning Narcissist or Bipolar or both and his mom, Codependent. As a result he probably struggled his entire life to be different. He could possibly be bipolar. Bipolar individuals are often HIGHLY intelligent HIGHLY creative, because they channel their anger and mood shifts into the arts.

please do not spread misinformation about yoongi or his family when he has provided the facts of his situation from his own mouth, through his music, interviews, and documentaries. yoongi has NEVER described his parents as being abusive or uncaring towards him and has actually said that admires and loves his parents dearly. he has explained that although his father struggled to express emotions when yoongi was a child, he has become more expressive lately, and when his father realized that yoongi had come to resemble his expressionless self, he warned yoongi not to become a "cold" person - because he cares about his son. while originally his parents did not support yoongi's musical interests because they were worried about his future, as parents typically are, their complicated relationship has improved over time and they started to support yoongi later into his career when the status of his group and future stabilized. yoongi has also been very clear about his psychological issues and what he has been treated for in the past, citing depression, social anxiety, and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) - not bipolar disorder. stop diagnosing strangers if you are not their doctor. while some people who are bipolar or suffer from other mental illnesses may be creative, it is not a guarantee that being bipolar or mentally ill is what makes them creative. that is actually the stereotype of the "tortured artist", a misconception that mentally ill people are able to create because of their suffering. it only adds to the stigma surrounding mentally ill people and downplays their struggles by saying "how bad can [insert illness] be when it leads to such great art?" it also leads mentally ill artists to lose confidence in their ability to make art as they begin to heal and draws them back into self-destructive habits in order to maintain the suffering that they believe fuels their creativity. it is a dangerous fallacy.
