what always kills me about BTS (and what I miss since military) is how they casually throw out a beautiful song--with a melody so complex it sounds like something the Beatles would do--and then go on to their next project. There are bands that would be happy to have 1 or 2 songs like this in their entire discography.

Nice reaction! When I consider the songs that JK is the primary songwriter and/or producer, I realise just how much untapped potential there still is for him. “Still With You”, “Film Out”, “Your Eyes Tell”, “Magic Shop” and “My Time” being my favourite from him (which is almost all of them). 😂

English translation doesn't justice the actual Japanese lyrics. I'm Japanese and the words they use in Japanese are very beautiful. I wish English translation could express the beauty of it.

Oh, I'm so happy that you were able to finally see and share this mv! "Film Out" hurts me and fills my heart at the same time. I live in a headspace called joyful melancholy. It's kind of like being stuck in a perpetual autumn, where you understand logically that everything is dying, which is sad, but the beauty of the process is so ethereal it can take your breath away. The joy is in knowing that the process repeats; whatever was empty will be filled again, whatever fades will bloom again. That's how this song feels to me. Despair and hope, separation and reunion. I'm not much of a crier, but this song always brings my emotions to the surface, and before I know it? Waterworks...😭

Thank you for this reaction, Roscoe! I love this song and have watched both live performances and mv several times. It does have a BU-ish vibe, with Jin as the observer. They have done the "freeze" several times over the years and if I remember rightly, Hobi usually breaks it up by giggling. Beautiful, beautiful song by my beautiful boys.

This is one of my very favorite songs....so much so that I think it is the first BTS song that I can actually sing all the words to (although I still sometimes mess up RM's rap) even though I had heard so many songs so often somehow I find the Japanese easier than the Korean to remember or maybe it is just the melody makes it easier...in any case I love this song so much!

Your remark bout Hobi made me laugh! 😄Not only smiling but holding his hand out & trying to keep it still 😆Maybe karma for all the times, as someone else has said, when he spoiled other "freezes" by giggling & moving 🤪I got chills when you reacted to seeing Jin on the other side & was just waiting to see your face when he opened the door to see the other portals 🤩Hope you do a reaction to the "making of" as well 😃👍

Anyway, yes, the "live" stage performance of this is so incredible. It's almost perfection. Or perfection at its highest. Shall look forward to your next reaction, Roscoe. Am always happy to be here. Even though it doesn’t advance or give more storyline details, it definitely contributes more of the feeling of stopping and starting different planes/alternate universes. I think all the Japanese versions do this. Stay Gold and Lights too.

There was a kdrama called Signal. It has a somewhat mystical element to it where a cop from the present is able to speak to a cop in the past through a walkie talkie. Then the series was remade in Japan. Then they made a movie of it. This is ost for the movie. Not BU at all but army does love trying to make it so

There were no lies ... Roscoe was told, and said in his reaction, that he is aware that this IS NOT BU but that you can see some references. You don't see the references? And since there are no scenes from the movie, or show, BTS and their production team have full rights to create the kind of MV they choose. This is not my field of expertise so correct if my thought is wrong. It is not surprising, though, that after all of these years they have given a "reminder" of it since CEO Bang said that their intentions are to revisit HYYH-type material after the military. Does that mean continue the BU or the sentiment? We'll have to wait and see! 💜 Thnx Cap'n, very clever, indeed!!

@@donitapolk9413 No, it really isn't BU related. People see similarities because the movie that this is an OST for has time travel themes, like the BU. However, there are aspects of it that are OPPOSITE of the BU. Like Jin standing separate from the group, watching them, but he's also with the group that Jin is watching. Jin in the BU is never separated like that from the other members. JK being aware of the importance of time running out and time actually running out. For BU Jin, time doesn't run out, he just resets it. In Signal, however, the cop in the past has only a limited amount of time to change things and there is no reset. Both in the past and the future, they have to live with the consequences of whatever actions the cop in the past makes. Sometimes he doesn't get there in time and sometimes the changes he makes actually make the final outcome worse, but they're stuck with those changes. BU Jin has changed things a lot of times and if he doesn't like the outcome, he just redoes it. In Signal, the cop in the past is missing in the future and they are trying to solve the mystery of his disappearance. That's why the song talks about "reaching out my hand and you suddenly disappear". So, no, it's not related to the BU at all.

@@jackcomeback1758 Even if some people like BTS only because of the BU, that's okay, too. That's their decision. Those are still fans of BTS. And remember, the BU was an exciting time for many, many ARMYs that brought them together around the world, trying to figure things out. When the BU is involved, or even potentially involved, ARMYs get excited because it's a wonderful puzzle and it's a masterpiece of art. I don't think it makes those ARMYs any less valuable in their opinions. Me personally, I would much rather see ARMYs who love BTS *only* for their BU-work rather than people who are Anti-ARMY.
