Added context for maestro mv - Woozi said during a presscon that he dabbled into using AI for making music after the company asked him to and did not like the process himself but it made him think a lot about where seventeen as artists fit as the industry is changing. the concept is extra interesting as this is the title track of their best album - something that celebrates their last 9 years. there are a lot of easter eggs for carats who have been paying attention to it - old track samples, choreo callbacks, mv imagery and the way the lyrics flagposts the song progression is very cleverly done. it's a clear messaging that they will not use AI in their own music, are aware of the changing industry, but will find their own way to grow as artists as they have been over the years.

I think what’s interesting to add to the conversation is that technology has played a big role in Woozi becoming a producer - he started learning production using Garage Band by borrowing Wonwoo’s laptop. Woozi and Bumzu also sampled 7 of their older songs for Maestro (eg, the piano in the beginning is from Adore U). I think Seventeen is saying hey, no matter what comes, we will adapt and become leaders. We should question our reality and understand what we’re consuming, but also that Seventeen will always be the Maestro’s of their own music.

I took it as svt are artists the allude to the artwork creation of man is now man’s creation of AI. The corporate black swat teams, the greedy or malicious want to use it for negative purpose but svt are fighting that off and use the positive parts of modern tech to enhance what they can create. But they also show that in the space where there were no swat or machines just abandoned old piano - they as artists would still make music. Because they aren’t faking their voices we know that they CAN sing, they can write music, woozi can really play multiple instruments. The car is the same as left & right, there are samples in the song from 7-8 of their songs previously. Mingyu on mix board, vernon using sampler deck, coups is on the play button, the keyboards are skate ramps as you descended and crescendo in music. The giant organ of every instrument like GarageBand and you don’t need any skills to use them or even sing. BUT woozi can do it for real so the suggestion that responsibility comes to those in power that AI is not used to abuse the system. Last year Lauv posted how excited he was to try out a project, explaining that a South Korean singer would sing Lauv song translated and then use AI to change it to his voice. There was a lot of responses. This is NOT what ai should be for. Translate and learn to sing it yourself, it was rude to the native singer and if you want culturally to reach other language speakers do the work - it was not the wow he expected from folks. ❤

Thank you for sharing this MV with me! I hadn't taken the time to watch it yet! Silly me! I had seen all the dance shorts of the song so I knew that the choreo was fire with all that intricate footwork but like you said this MV is brilliant! So many inferences and creative thoughts about man's creativity vs what man can create through AI. In the end the main creator is still man just with a new single instrument that can cover all instruments both standard classical and automated musical sounds! Which can make a new kind of symphony. But in the end man is still the Maestro! I was wondering though when they had that question in print on the curtain about who is the real maestro and it opened up to a person on the stage and a person in the audience, was that a reference to the fan being the ultimate Maestro controlling what is accepted as valuable vs what is just noise? What is great music to the fans vs what is albums left in the archives to just get dusty? Thanks for your great reaction to this great song by Seventeen!

They are telling the world who is afraid that AI is gonna take over music that they are still in control ie having the robot dogs on the leash. They will use it but they are in control. This is their opus so far for me just like Lit was for Lay. The choreo in this is just wowza! And damn Woozi just comin' for us.

On Vernon's part with the robot dogs and cars, I don't know what it's called but I'm going to call it a beat pad here. Vernon has a beat pad in his hand. There's a big beat pad standing up. Vernon is creating the beat on his and programming cars to run into the buttons to play his creation on a beat pad of a larger scale. In other words, he's the creator of the beats but uses technology (the cars and lg. pad) to play his music to reach a larger worldwide audience. I think that's also represented by the robot dogs which may illustrate the distribution and control over what happens to the music. Robot dogs are now being used to deliver things (food delivery, goods like for Amazon, etc) so they could represent control over the music they create and how the world receives it. At the end you see that Vernon controls all the dogs on leashes! HOW DID I DO ROSCOE?😁

Who is the real Maestro? I think you will be surprised. It has to do with forward thinking. The real Maestro is.....drum roll....HYBE. In February of 2022, Hybe invested into the AI company, Supertone. Did any of you miss that announcement? I remember it. At the time, I didn't get it. But now I do. Hybe completed their investment to acquire the whole company for 32 million dollars!!! So Seventeen's song is NO surprise. "SHUT UP. Love Roscoe". I agree. This MV is Stunningly Exquisite.
