I also don’t think any of you caught when he said he’s salaried...so taking a little extra time doesn’t always matter. Especially when 5 extra minutes means you’re not coming back next week to fix mistakes made trying to be fast but sloppy.
@azalldayy7 жыл бұрын
hate when that happens with an existing dish. why use a wrench to tighten everything down much faster with an impact.
@TheTrebek6 жыл бұрын
Unlike majority of others here slamming ya...I’m on your side of this being quality. Who gives a shit what drill you’re using, or if you’re using a wrench for peaking the dish. It’s not the tools that produce results, it’s knowledge, skill, and using what you’re comfortable with. Hell, I use a ratchet w/socket, & 1/2” box wrench to peak dishes but I’m going to guess I’m doing it wrong according to everyone here cause I don’t use what they are. FFS people, just produce a quality install at the end of the day.

how far from trees and buildings do these need to be located? My house is very close to the other homes and I also have tall trees all around. I understand that it has to point south. can it be angled up at a sharp tilt towards more of a overhead angle?
@jsliva5 жыл бұрын
It all depends on the elevation the sats in space come in at your location..... The ODU (dish) is set at specific tilt and elevation for your location....

Thanks so much for the videos! So is this basically impossible to do without a meter? Trying to do a slimline 3 for someone. If impossible, what's the cheapest meter I could get away with?
@jsliva7 жыл бұрын
In order to peg it right, you need the meter..... Bird Dog is probably the cheapest meter out there....

He's Using a wrench because that's the way he was probably trained. He is wasting time and energy using the wrench however the wrench provides detailed precision.

@@jsliva why keep it on swm5 setting? what did i miss lol
@theblackknight97835 жыл бұрын
@@architype Korean channels require two dishes. An international dish, and a kaku dish with a kaku5 lnb, with either a swm8 or swm16 module. You can't peak those kind of LNBs set on SWM5 setting, and it only takes 30 seconds to set your AIM meter if that. You could do that while walking up to the dish.

Does it effect the roof sir...like any leakage?
@jsliva3 жыл бұрын
Nothing is infallible. We seal with bishop tape. Most roofers will say it is useless but that's what AT&T demands.

Omg working without an impact driver !! Taking the dish up without the back assembly already set at the proper tilt and elevation?? Bro you are wasting lots of time doing it this way. A low pro would have same you time as well as make it looked nicely, considering they already have that hughnet atrocity. By the way, it didnt sound like you hit any studs there.
@jsliva7 жыл бұрын
I have am impact drill , i prefer the hammer drill .... I use the impact drill for the flex clips.... I did hit the studs .... I'm not wasting any time..... The back assembly was set already not sure what you are watching..... Low profile mounts are fine in the corner.......
@SomeDudeMaybeProbably6 жыл бұрын
I have to agree with the pre prep on the tilt/elev. why would you bother spending time on this on the roof dealing with gravity? to each man his own drill but you can save a lot of time. studs were questionable, the drill seemed to have a lot of pull back at the end. overall interesting to see another tech operate though. i worked out of a pretty shady office in the past :D to be fair though i'd always rather see a tech spend a few minutes than have me on a shit hour drive to a $15 service call for a simple error. keep up the good work

there is a reason to go thru the proper dithering process. even if the -dBs look "good" It's the difference of losing satellite signal due to rain fade... SMH
