Holy crap, as someone who grew up in Worcester, they did a fantastic job, especially on Union Station!!

The reason for stopping past the end of the platform is so that there can be 2 cars loaded at the raised platform section, instead of 1.

As a Grafton resident who somewhat frequents the commuter rail, this is amazingly accurate.

This will be a long comment but here's an answer to your question regarding why cab cars lead into Boston: As another commenter below stated, the main reason cab car is for noise and diesel fume reduction. Put the diesel locomotive on the outbound end out the train so passengers don't have to walk past it. You'll see this setup in many US Passnger Commuter Trains that use Push-Pull Setup. Push - Pull trains are used to eliminate the need to reverse a train out of the at terminal end station and it's common in the US for cab cars to lead inbound to downtown terminal stations and for the locomotive to lead outbound away from downtown terminal stations. An UK Equivalent would be the Class 91 that runs on the East Coast Mainline. The locomotive leads the train out of London and the DVT (or cab car) leads the train back to London. Hope this information helps and great video BTW 🙂

That makes a lot of sense! :)

10:25 One of the reasons they did this because one of their older F40PH models had a very loud engine, and they didn't want to have passengers get their ears blown out when walking by it at North & South Station to get to the coaches, so they instead opted to have the loco at the end of the train the passengers won't walk by.

Don't know if you've seen it, but Matt explains the in-cab signalling nicely sometime in the beginning of the official DTG livestream because it's rather different from the others already in-game. I think just before departing in the HSP46.

Newtonville, West Newton, and Auburndale don't get reverse-peak service because of the single platform. If you were driving a peak-direction local train, you'd be stopping there.

A "landing" is where a ship would "land" or come ashore/dock.

I live in Worcester currently and work right down the street from Union Station. I don't have this yet but plan t get it. One thing they got wrong though is that you never see that many double decker cars on an average train, most have one at the very end, and maybe another somewhere in the middle, all others are the single level cars. Also, they could have put a little more effort into some of the major landmarks, like the Prudential tower etc. On the other hand, they have things like the BU Photonics building and the New Balance building which are relatively new, modeled pretty accurately. They have also just rebuilt the passenger loading area in Worcester, will be interesting to see if they have that. This is also the CSX main line, so it's too bad there are no freight options. Otherwise it looks great.

Superb! And there is Freight on the route :) As seen in my CSX Freight Layer video, even MBTA F40 hauling freight!

The highway tunnel next to back bay is the mass pike which I would say is the main highway in Massachusetts. It connects upstate ny to Boston. In real life this line is beautiful. I ride it frequently

I've noticed when completing runs at either Framingham or Worcester that an emergency brake penalty kicks in when stopping at the end of the platform. Any ideas why this is or how to prevent it?

Because there's a red light and signaling systems require you to stop
