So as their player numbers plummeted, they increased DLC cost. Yet the same weird rushed look to the details remain everywhere in everything they release. Makes you wonder what kind of 3rd world sweatshop that they outsource their route development to. I've seen better quality out of well known crapware peddlers in the Microsoft Flight Simulator marketplace. Their margins of markup must be astronomical. $60 for this? Yikes. I really hope your excellent and entertaining KZbin videos at least pay off enough to cover these extraordinary costs.

4:59 Petition for Boston North - Lowell & Haverhill. This would also give an option to run the select trains that run on the lowell line until Wilmington before taking a branch line connecting back up with the Haverhill Line.

Never thought I’d hear anyone else besides myself want the Sounder train in TSW. I’d love to see it in game as it follows the Puget Sound coastline and would provide good scenery while driving. Great review as always!

For north side service, Lowell and Haverhill lines are connected and share Amtrak service

4:20 What is odd is that they did not include the 2022-2024 order of BTC-4D and CTC-5s. They are basically the same, except for a few minor details, such as a different horn, the cab door not being painted, and the vestibule door window being in a different spot

8:25 The acceleration on the HSP is amazing IRL, much better than the F40PH-3C/GP40MC (because of it's 4600 HP compared to 3000). That's why they prioritize the use of the HSP on the longer/heavier trains IRL.

I dislike the DTG decision not to bundle more trains with routes, and force users to pay a small fortune for old DLC to get the full experience.

Oh there’s potato man. I’m mind blown it’s not another Cali/New York route but not to worry I’m sure the next U.S. route 24 months from now delayed 5 times and only one engine reused will be in Cali or New York and be commuters as usual.

TBF this route has very realistic scenery, even the high way exits sign was the same as IRL. I90 is not that busy IRL due to it is a tolled highway many avoid it due to the toll.

Ps I think the quality of this route deserve at least 8/10 as it is a really good route with realistic scenery, good locomotives and signaling

ps2 GO Transit in Ontario Canada is kinda existing in the TSW as the Oakville subdivision route however there is no first party timetable for GO train. But there is a good timetable mod on train sim community

MBTA also acquired some more CTC/BTC-5 as an option for the current fleet with numbers 1828-1866. All of em are in service, along with 1800-1827. Also, the CP AC4400CW from Searchlights Simulations for TSC has that feature as you mentioned about the autostart and shutdown.

As someone who often rides sounder, I don't think it would make a good addon for TSW. It's very infrequent especially on the N Line. If it was included with the Amtrak Cascades and BNSF freight services it would be well worth it, but I can't see Dovetail putting in that much effort.

Honestly, it’s a good line. But them being too lazy to add the Lakeshore limited on this line is extremely disappointing AND the fact it’s less then 50 miles, but oh of course it has to be $40 to buy such a boring route. Including the fact I always wanted this route in TSW, but dtg decided to be Mr. Krabs and make it $40 dollars. If only you can’t please us forever DTG. On the flip side, i’m happy that they finally added a route that I always wanted, and then FINALLY adding the HSP-46 and the CTC-5 cab car and the double decker coaches is great. And fixed the F40PH-3C locomotive sound and horn on it. I think the route would’ve been better if it (unsurprisingly) wouldn’t have been $40 and made a feature where depending on the time, they could switch between the 2C and the 3C. Or maybe make it a locomotive when we can use it when we want, and maybe add the comet cars? 🤔

I’m still on a gen 8 console but they made it to where I could buy the TSW5 route DLC’s. I think it’s 36$ right now but I’ve seen it down to 32$, still won’t pay until it’s 30$ with tax, US routes are always delayed, always incomplete, always missing half of what’s supposed to be on the routes, promise freight yet make it either NpC or never deliver it at all because it’s “too much” to process yet German and British routes be having 10-15 locos layered and thousands of timetable spots. I do plan on getting this route when I upgrade to a gen 9 console so I can route hop to the never completed yet still full priced Boston sprinter route from 4 games ago and have some solid runs although route hopping was a total fluke, I fully expected you’d reach the end of a routes map limits and it’d ask if you’d want to continue to the next route but nah you gotta do it by foot and in a completely different train. Fits dovetail and it’s 3rd party lacks devs

To DC 4260 Productions: Just came across your channel and first video or two and I subscribed. Having a need to really find out about a route, etc. before I buy it, I would search KZbin looking for quality reviews, etc. It seems like 95% of then provide so little information and actual review. Most of them are 'look at me driving the route' approach. Your videos remind me of the old 'At the Railyard' videos from the MSTS days, which I hold in high regard. You cover all the important points and issues, allowing me to make decent purchase decisions. Please, please keep the good work up and thank you.

I used to watch 'At The Railyard' too, although my main inspirations were Maverick Hunter Daniel and Yawwie (two British KZbinrs who review / reviewed TS products).

I played this route and on this route i found not only a duplicate house inside of another house but it was also floating right next to the tracks so it was not like you couldnt see it, and right next to the duplicate houses was a messed up road piece. This route feels so rushed.

So an alright route i guess, though i never really play US routes or any others except the UK because i can never seem to start up the trains outside of the tutorial. And i just mostly enjoy uk stuff overall.

Current sale on Steam for TSW routes (some). All of the routes on sale are ever rated negative (for good reason) or are extremely short in length and sales of them are clearly not moving at full price. This is so DTG. Nowadays I usually wait for the sales, etc. but even those seem so lacklustered now.

Yea they be like 10-20% and still 40$ after tax 😂 I wait til they are 30-70% off or I won’t buy at all. I have no clue how I got 5/6 of the dlc routes I did about a year ago for less than 10$ each but they had a sale that I couldn’t refuse, literally glossip line was like 7$ or something like that, I’m not a euro rail guy but do enjoy the routes overall so when I saw all the crappy routes so low priced I figured why not I’ll have more variety.

This seems like one of their better US routes so far, has something for both the passenger and freight people and things look like they were done semi properly with MBTA being cooperative so thats good, however i myself am still holding off on buying the next installment until DTG stop being dumb, but good video all around.

The lack of the Lake Shore Limited is such a huge disappointment. Its really my only major gripe with the route as service variety is sorely lacking.

While the route certainly looks nice and I do love seeing more of the T (common nickname for the MBTA), I'd love to have seen one of the North lines that operates out of Boston's North Station on the former Boston and Maine lines.

Another reason why the route appeals to me somewhat is that it's a modern portion of the B&A route that's in Train Sim Classic, made by G-Trax, in the New York Central era.

Dovetail routes (and some others) are always sub-par there are only like 2 developers that I actually like, if they didn't make content there would've been no way I would've bought TSW5

I certainly like it, and it is one of the best US Routes in terms of overall quality, yet not without problems, there was some stuttering I encountered between Framingham and Worcester for example. I did download the patch to fix the wrong numbering. Overall, decent, I'd say!
