In each bi-monthly episode of DiResta (every other Wednesday at 2pm PST), artist and master builder Jimmy DiResta (Dirty Money, Hammered, Against the Grain,Trash for Cash) lets us into his workshop, to look over his shoulder while he builds whatever strikes his fancy. On this episode of DiResta, Jimmy creates a protective tool case out of plastic stock.
For Jimmy's Notes, sketchbook images, tools and materials lists, see the post for this video on MAKE: blog.makezine.c... ‎

I love DiResta! He's my hero! You know why? Because he just *does* stuff. No fussy measurements, no hunting down tools or materials, no paralyzing perfectionism, no gumption traps (the fast-motion replay really highlights all that, I think). I'm trying to be this way myself. That is: Don't worry about it, just do it!

I've heard that the cessation of one's mortality, without culminating into an immortality, can make it stop - beyond that however, no. There is nothing that can make the Diresta video marathon stop.

Oh wow!!!!! I remember using those Montana cans (well they have different name brands, just can't think of any other at the moment) it's been so many years, I don't even know if they still make that brand Montana.. I just love the colors they have & pretty fun taking a trip to the scrap yard to go get them and also can remember using a punk pink on a project and their neon colors are like no other !! they truly have outstanding colors and I love them !!!!!!! thanks for the reminder. almost forgot about them :)

Styrene does not need very much water-thin glue to do the trick. If you use a small paint-brush dipped in the (methylene chloride) glue, then brush it at the seams, it's a lot cleaner.
