the person who was talking about the UI for the feral flare lantern was thinking of the one from 1.12, in that menu you were able to tell it "line of site" mode so that it wouldnt place them in things like a mob farm, something i REALLY wish was still a thing in 1.16

More mass to heat up. Will need more heat put in to get to the same temperature, but once at that temperature it'll have a higher production rate for the same temperature.

yes, but it takes more RF to heat that larger mass too.. would be better to just bump the heat on a smaller structure for a better result

If you put it in a closet the heater would be able to heat the closet with not much power but if you put it in the garage it will have to work much harder to heat the bigger space lmao but Dire was confused as to why more space to heat meant more power

Dire, keep in mind that even at 25, the reactor seems to produce more steam than the turbine seem to be able to handle, so if you raise the ratio, the reactor will probably explode after a while, if it doesn't that quickly is probably because the mekanism tubes have a huge buffer

The reactor is outputting 500 buckets/tick, the turbine is using 1000 buckets/tick. I don't think it's the reactor producing too much, but I havent figured out what is happening. I did see a 'waiting for server' briefly (when hovering over the steam pipe at 25:03 ), but that was before Dire increased the fuel consumption . I've made a reactor and turbine the exact same size and composition as Dire has, and it can run 50 mB/t fuel -> 1.000.000 mB/t steam no problem.

About Draconic Evolution and Mekanism. In some respects, Mekanism is actually better than DE. Stick with the induction power storage from Mek until you have the awakened draconium to make the tier 8 orb because the tier 7 only holds a couple trillion RF which is easy to do with a couple ultimate induction cells. As for Mek armor, it's actually better than DE (see replies to this comment for how to get Mek armor to protect from chaos damage). If you install the underwater breathing/scuba module it counts as a scuba suit, and if you fully upgrade the power storage it has a far stronger energy shield than even a chaotic chestplate can have (though the DE chestplates are curios too so you can actually wear both, and the DE flight module is cheaper). I was practically invincible even against the chaos guardian with a fully upgraded MekaSuit. Also, the DE armor suit was replaced with only a chestplate. DE weapons are OP as usual.

The DE Chestpiece shield is the ONLY shield that can take Chaos damage. The DE mod author said so himself, and I've tested it. Once your DE runs out of shield and the Chaos dragon hits you, you die instantly, maxed-out Mekasuit or not. The Tier 8 battery is easy to get to thanks to mystical agriculture, but you're right about the Mekanism induction battery for mid game, however it would have to be an absolutely ridiculous size to have any chance of reaching Int capacity. More resources than you could make after several irl years of playing.

@@DizzyDJW Upon further testing, MekaSuit will protect from chaos damage, but only if the full suit is worn AND the inhalation purification unit is installed on the helmet AND is enabled (regardless of which effects it is set to remove). Otherwise, yeah you're right the chaos guardian will kill you pretty much instantly. Admittedly this is probably a bug, but as of v1.9.0 of the pack it works.

The minimum height of the structure is 3 blocks. To increase the internal storage and rate of evaporation, the structure can be raised up to 18 blocks high. The maximum possible evaporation rate is 1080mB/t and requires the solar modules to achieve.

Adding height to evaporator... Faster processing would logically require more heat, but you didn't bump the output of the heater, so of course the temperature dropped. OTOH, if you want faster throughput, it could be more efficient to just boost the heat input into a smaller tower.

In regards to the thermal evaporation plants, if you think about evaporation in real life, the wider the vessel, The more and the faster evaporation can take place. As opposed to a taller vessel which evaporates more slowly. So if that is implemented into the features of the mod, then I would assume it would be the same in game as well?

Honestly, at this point he should just get into Draconic, go to the end, grab the elytra, and get creative flight. The final tier jetpack is so bad anyways, it's great for flying in a straight line for a long time, so perfect for searching for end cities, but impossible to accurately set down on a single block space. Plus, there's no way he could miss the DE Chestpiece having it's own curio slot too, RIGHT??!!?! lol

Feral flare lantern used to have a UI in older versions. All it let you do was switch it so it could only place lights in locations where it had line of sight. Had nothing to do with the range it worked.

A tip I thought of for anyone trying to get quartz for silicon early game - Get a few stacks of sand and create a tube straight down (I've read somewhere that liquid mob souls can help out with this) and ladder down to bedrock. Start digging around (take along a few sponges that you've might've found in barrels) and mine some granite. Run this through a pulverizer and you'll get quartz dust. Smelt this, and you'll get silicon.

You can also break most barrel types for a decent chance of getting Chiseled Quartz Blocks. Melt those in a smeltery to get quartz and you'll have plenty to start you off.

The larger structure has an increased capacity and therefore generation. Thoug hit requires mroe heat to operate at the same temperature.

As long as it's not turned on that thermal evaporation chamber should actually show the ambient temperature of the current location in your Minecraft world. 43 degrees Celsius is quite an unpleasant temperature for most humans.

On his turbine he had dump excess. Once the energy buffer filled up on the turbine it stopped running, it immediately started dumping all the excess steam it was getting and wasn’t returning water to the reactor. This caused the reactor to run out of water almost instantly, overheating. Dump excess on the turbine only dumps excess steam, not excess power.

@@Aalborgian yea but he uses MA for basically everything else he needs.. he just uses the sluice for prosperity shards because thats the only current source of them.. i mean, COULD he make a few more systems? yea he probably could.. but its not really worth the effort at this stage.. and by the time he needs massive amounts of items, he can go full tilt on MA with growth accelerators maxed out 36 blocks down and other tick acceleration methods (is imaginary time block in this mod pack? i remember that being absolutely obscene in my MA farm before, less than a second per crop from seed to harvest)
