Ironic of dirk to think a European player wouldn’t be able to figure it out in the nba 😂😂

I mean, many Europeans never did figure it out or were just average in the NBA. So, it was a fair assumption.
@Baguenaudeur4 ай бұрын
@@sasquatch7234Except Luka wasn't your average 25th pick. Bro was a phenomenon in Europe, playing exactly how he plays today. There is no way, no way any decent scout watched him and was like "I don't know if he can make it in the NBA". Literally everyone who watched Euroleague knew he was the obvious 1st pick, by far. For comparison Victor was being hyped as hell years later while he never came close to the level Luka displayed in Madrid.

@GriefingGamer4 ай бұрын
@@BaguenaudeurI mean Ricky Rubio is a good example of a well accomplished young prospect from Europe that didn’t pan out either yeah he was a good role player but he isn’t what Luka is, I feel like it’s the same argument that is used for being able to draft players straight from high school. “Oh Kobe and Lebron were drafted straight from high school and you’d be blind to assume they weren’t gonna be superstars” meanwhile there were tons of previously drafted 18 year olds who were supposed slam dunks that never panned out
@ball36774 ай бұрын
@@Baguenaudeur Thats easy to say in hindsight. The reality is you can never actually *know* a player will make the transition. Whether it be D1 college in the states or in Europe. There are guys who on paper should have 100% been able to make it at the next level who became busts. There are guys who everyone had zero faith that their body and skills would translate that ended up being the best in their class. Its a real crap shoot. People tend to think "The next LeBron" is a lock when they turn out like Andrew Wiggins and OJ Mayo.
