This was extraordinary. What a difficult and time consuming project. Also what gains you have now from doing this type of research and actually attempting so many of the techniques that have gone into your countries women’s ancestral clothing. So wonderful to try these out and in some way inspire others to think similarly about clothing, design etc. Thank you for sharing. It was a stunning creation.

I’m late to the party but this is amazing. Such a huge effort but it looks gorgeous. I also like your editing style (I’ve been watching your videos in no specific order). Super high quality! 👏 👏

Stunning. I really want to try that pleating technique - pre-pleated natural fabrics are so expensive in my country too!

Awesome! It turned out so cool! It's so interesting the way the pleated fabric moves. You did it!

This was so fascinating! I love that you show multiple cultures using same technqiues! If you do this on a waistband it's called cartridge pleating. In Renaissance this is soemtimes used as a base for smocking. ❤

Are you wearing petticoat from Amelia costume because it seems stiff underneath this costume? Anyway, another great project for this series. Cannot wait for the next costume in the making!

No, actually it's just the pleating! It really stiffens the fabric in an interesting way.

I’ve always been intimidated by pleating, even for curtains. I don’t know how to allow for overlaps, seams, etc., but still get the pleats even.

The pleats look really cool :) Would they stand up to washing?
