Painting without drawing first was something Carolus-Duran taught his students, but it's not the only correct way to paint. Very nice job!

I just watched "Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris" and was watching the credits and thought wow there are a *ton* of Hungarian names in these credits, only to find out it was filmed in Budapest! When I looked it up, I found out a lot of movies set in France are actually filmed in Hungary. I had no idea I started learning Hungarian knowing I wasnt really going to use it much (I live in Houston...) But I keep finding new KZbinrs that turn out to be Hungarian. The algorithm is smiling on me, I guess. ;) I'm really glad I ran into your videos- they've all been lovely ❤

Yes, there is a big film industry here actually :) I also work in films. Congratulations on learning Hungarian, it's quite a challenge! May I ask why did you decide to do so?

@@AspiringCostumeDesigner I'm writing a novel based on "The Scarlet Pimpernel" by Baroness Orczy. And because Orczy was born in the 1871 in Budapest I decided to have my book set in Budapest in 1871 instead of Paris in 1794 ....at first I didnt think this would make that big of a difference (I mean other than the obvious. It's an "fantasy history" I know there was not a french-style reign of terror in Budapest in 1871....) But the more I learned about Budapest the more fascinating I found Magyar culture. And Magyarul is kind of this secret language. Most other languages have a twin or close cousin. Hungarians are like nope. Just us. And some loan words from Turkey. I cant actually speak Hungarian. I think the quote is "Only God and Hungarians can speak Hungarian" but it's very interesting to study.

Wow, the premise of your book sounds super fascinating, can't wait to be able to read it :) Hungarian is definitely a very challenging language, but I know a couple of people who managed (after living here for a while 😆)
