I like the tool pad, i don't like carrying tools in my pack, so i bought a lightweight pack by Wolfman packs that comes with a tool roll and attaches to the rear fender with 4 bolts and a base plate. It Velcros on for easy removal and straps to secure it. The whole bag with tools is around 3 pounds. I try to stay as light as possible

I like the tool box, I've been using a reddish colored Milwaukee box that screwdriver bits come in. I removed all the bits put all my tools in it and mounted it between the two flat bars on Flexx handlebars bars that I have. I used Velcro doubled sided tape to hold it in place and it's never come off even during the roughest of rides. It's also almost the same color as my KTM so I put a white KTM sticker on it and it looks pretty much factory. Anyway, my 2 cents. Keep those videos coming

Dunno about the little thing , but we always had the carry basic tools , inner tube, mini pump. We had a very small pouch like a thin Fanny pack and it was a neccesity in trail riding. I wouldn’t personally put that on my handlebars.

I think the bar tool kit is a good idea, pliers and an adjustable wrench would be a good addition if you could fit them in there. I carry so many tools with me, mainly on my front fender bag when trail riding and additional tools in my back pack when dual sporting, tire irons/axle wrench set, CO2 tire inflater and hand pump, tire patch kit, small jump pack, tow strap, ect;. Beautiful family you have there Rado, keep them safe through this mayhem we are experiencing.

I love smart compact tools.. this idea has potential.. but I think I could pack a lot more into that system. There should be a 6mil hex adapter built into the end of that handle with a full rack of KTM torx, allen etc.. that click into it. Use leftover space for a multi tool. Also open end wrench tips that attach.. I’m all over the bar pad idea.. but too much wasted space

That’s a pretty nifty idea! Maybe if the made the bottom part of the foam a bit shorter, and then added a thicker, softer top piece it would be more giving when you hit it. I currently have a small tool bag that I buckle to the number plate with enough odds and ends to get me by in a pinch.

I think it's fine for a way to carry them, but I would need more tools along with a spark plug etc. so I would need a took bag beyond just that anyway so might as well just keep all the stuff in the bag. Might be a good option for a group where you are the socket wrench guy and others carry other stuff. If riding with buddies I normally just keep most tools in the truck and figure someone could go back and grab them, so mainly just keep a first aid kit and tow strap in the water pack

Cool product, but I feel that this could be fairly easily reproduced with your own tools, tailored for your bike. But this is not bad, and seems good quality. For me, I like to have both Philips and Flat head screw drivers, various metric sockets, a couple wrenches, and Allen set. I have not decided where to put these on my yz250 I recently got, but it shouldn't be to hard to attach them. Stay healthy! Cheers, Simon

Cool idea but unfortunately not the final solution as some are missing. I use the standard ktm toolkit as it contains everything you should need to fit the bike. With this, I would still have to carry extra tools. I also worry that they will rust like crazy after cleaning the bike unless emptied every time after wash. Like i said, I like the idea but a few time missing

I would supplement that with a few other things in my pack, but that would be enough to ditch my trail pack and keep the other stuff in my klim hydration pack (plenty of room). Maybe a roll for the rest of it. Not sure, but I'd have to see the price of that first. I would add several things to that. Beautiful Family you have!

Not a bad idea but I absolutely hate any extra weight on the bars....I ran a tool bag there for a few rides and found I really didn't like. I carry everything I need in backpack and butt bag. I've used a rear fender bag also but the tools rattled around (even with padding) to the point they actually burnished each other. Tools that I don't want in butt bag I zip-tie or tape to the frame. I used to carry enough tools in my butt bag to overhaul a small-block Chevy but over the years I steadily reduced the number of tools and cut-down tool handles/etc. Too much in your butt bag and backpack is very hard on the knees....trust me....my right has been replaced and I need the left replaced, too. You're not going to be young forever, remember. Cute kids....we had 4 and they all rode with Mother and me. Good Days....now they are all grown with families of their own.

I'm the exact same way. Ditched Flexx bars because of their weight. I go pretty bare bones on tools and carry a small foldable t-handle set with sockets, common small open ended wrenches in my back or waist hydo packs. Luckily have only needed to use it a couple times.
@tomnekuda3818
@tomnekuda3818 4 жыл бұрын
@@jeffloucks2120 Thanks for comment. Rado....hope you read this, too, as it has helped me survive. Due to one shoulder replaced (and need of another) I will tolerate(need?) the Flexx bars. Sounds like you have in your pack the same stuff I have. I put in a small tube of superglue to handle cuts on my body(learned this on years of construction), a bit of electrical tape wrapped around wrench handle, very small magnet(to change needle height just press against magnet and it catches clip....(have you ever looked for needle clip 50 miles out in the desert for over an hour?), small cigarette lighter(for impromptu sleepover in the desert), small amount baling wire(or safety wire), bandana around my neck(prevents chafing skin while rubbernecking to avoid antelope that want to sit on your lap at 70 mph + you can spread in on the ground if you have to tear down carb in desert sand), extra clutch/brake shorty lever....if you don't have bark-busters), couple "rubber bands" made from inner tube, always extra plug, etc. Can't think of other things right now. A REAL BONUS! I can curse fluently in Husqvarna, Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, and some KTM and Suzuki. Used to be able to swear in Can Am but it is a forgotten dialect now..... Keep the Faith Jeff and Rado

Its a smart idea for sure, better to have some modern tools to work with, rather than caveman sticks and rocks... ; ) But, its not a replacement for a good tool roll. I'm also curious on how it stays on. The pad seems tall and with the weight of the tools, I imagine it would start to flop around with nothing extra to hold it but the same velcro that holds a pad.

Motion Pro Titanium wrenches. Expensive as all hell. But they weigh nothing. I could only justify an 8mm and a 10mm. Tusk portable T-handle kit (just like this kit but only 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, and 12mm). Then I just add w/e loose sockets I have, as I see necessary: 13mm for the KTM kit or 14mm for the Honda and Kawasakis; Phillips, Allen, Torx.

This is a great idea but i think it was executed kinda poorly. The selection of sockets should be limited to the ones you will actually use. The choice of ratcheting drive and extender is awesome either as there are much smaller and lighter options that achieve the same thing. Could have fit some more useful stuff in there or reduced weight with a better choice of tools in the pad

Rado.... That's awesome, I really like this idea. The lighter my klim pack is the better for me. At 220lbs I got enough weight to transfer over the rear wheel lol. If you ever have any crazy dog questions,,,, my wife Jessica is awesome with dogs, you have my gmail address. I know she'd be proud to help. She spent her afternoon practicing static balance on her XR. 🍻 ✊🤪👍🍻

No good; have too many things on my handlebars already with gps and phone mount. My tools fit great in my hydro pack. This setup is too limited for how much space it takes up. I’ve never really seen a comprehensive trail tool kit pre made. To include things like safety wire, zip ties, steel stick, different tapes, tools, etc. Instead it’s always pieced together. This tool kit plus the other stuff you need is too large a package.

I bet 50% of the sockets in that kit don't even fit the bolts sizes on your bike and it's huge for the tiny amount it carries. Way better off putting together your own kit
