So what is the best tool kit (or toolkit), and which spares should you take?
Tool kits. How many parts, tools, and which tools, should you take on a ride? This will depend on a lot of things. What do all the world's best extreme enduro riders have in common? Almost without exception they are former trials champions who applied who have applied trials techniques to their dirt riding skills to tackle some of the world's toughest events - Romaniacs, Erzberg, The Roof of Africa and Hells Gate.
tools or parts.
LEVEL 1: THE BASIC ENDURO TOOL KIT
The stock tool kit (or toolkit) is a bare minimum of course. These vids provide an introduction on how to ride dirt bikes with our 70 free training vids. Many of these riding tips come from Graham Jarvis, Chris Birch and other top extreme enduro riders to form the concept of cross training - a blend of trials and enduro techniques. So at the very least you will want to add the following to your stock tool kit.
LEVEL 2: WELL PREPARED DIRT BIKE TOOL KIT
Spare fuses, Basic first aid kit, Chain repairs. The rise of extreme enduro, endurocross and hard enduro events has led to cross training - trials skills applied to dirt riding on enduro bikes. Subscribe to this channel for endurocross training, enduro techniques and dirt bike skills. This is where mousses or the TUbliss system are fantastic of course. But if you are running tubes, you will want tyre irons and a puncture repair kit, or alternatively spare tubes.
Carry a pack of bolts that suit your bike, there are aftermarket packs of these for most models. Include spare bolts for your handguards and other aftermarket bits too. Some guys also replace many of their bolts to get them all matching so less tools are needed. What do all the world's best extreme enduro riders have in common? Almost without exception they are former trials champions who applied who have applied trials techniques to their dirt riding skills to tackle some of the world's toughest events - Romaniacs, Erzberg, The Roof of Africa and Hells Gate. And they all have good tool kits (toolkits)! Music: www.purple-planet.com

@crosstrainingenduro
@crosstrainingenduro 8 жыл бұрын
+Anthony Benavidez my only concern with a linkage is protecting it anthony, because we like big logs and rocks, in terms of handling, i've read that PDS should come close to matching a linkage when you've got a dual rate spring and the shock set up well... the low speeds we do i don't think i'd be a good judge of things like that though. :)

Also, know those tyre patches? The things that come in a little kit that troll you into sitting there for a few minutes holding a little circular patch on a tube waiting for glue to dry to ultimately do absolutely nothing except extract swear words and waste your time? Piss that shit off and just get some RapidFix. I've used it on a lot of other stuff HOWEVER have recently discovered it can repair tubes extremely well. Don't use the powder, just the glue itself. Little bit inside the split, then a bit extra on the outside and hold it together for a few seconds, done. Piece of piss, without taking the piss. I tried it on a really mangled up tube because I couldn't get ahold of a spare (and the stupid patches did sweet f all) and it had no problem holding 80psi overnight. Tried to twist and tear it apart again and it didn't leak. This was a pretty mangled tube, not a clean split at all. Have ridden with it a bit and its still holding up just fine. Going to see how long it lasts But so far it seems like a much better option than carrying a patch kit or even a spare tube. One little bottle will last a lot longer, and doesn't dry out in the presence of air. The powder would also make it viable for repairing snapped levers, mounts etc. It's damn strong stuff
@crosstrainingenduro
@crosstrainingenduro 8 жыл бұрын

Or just buy a TT-R 125, then you'll never need to worry about it breaking down. And also you'll be the fastest rider around due to the 12v TOHC with a V8 cummins powerstroke producing 132hp at 14000 RPMs

Costs about $90 to hire a PLB or (EPIRB if you like) for a week if you dont want to go the expense of buying your own. Extremely cheap piece of mind. A chopper containing trained paramedics bearing powerful opiates is a good thing. Mates cursing Optus for shit coverage as they amble along trying to get a signal while you quietly bleed out, no so much.
