Dirt Devil Hand Vacuum (Two-speed)

Bought this little guy sometime after Summer. I once owned a model 103 with the standard switch, but this model has a two-speed switch. It comes in handy when vacuuming delicate throws or blankets. I use it almost daily to remove cat hair off my furniture. It is the model 08130 and it was made in August of 1994.

Are you using that with a paper bag inside? I know the 103 had the option of inner bag or just dump out the cloth bag. Yours looks slightly newer than 103? I love these! I've had several and honestly the motors hold up better than the 501. The 501's like to wear out the sleeve bearings on the armature.

I use paper inserts in this one. After a lot of usage, these get a wear spot on the bottom and that causes a small hole sometimes. It's a design flaw, unfortunately. But, the paper bags filter well enough, so it's no issue with my machine.

Matt, there was another two-speed Dirt Devil hand vacuum like this one, but it was known as the Dirt Devil Plus model 523. It also existed in blue as the Dirt Devil Pro Series model 533.
