I had just learnt about lenz law in my class and i had also seen the magnet dropping through pipe experiment earlier in my life several times but never understood it and today i tried to understand it after learning lenz law it was an absolute pleasure to have that eureka moment , when your theoretical knowledge gets tested and approved in phyiscal world. As i have learnt , when the magnet drops inside a circular loop of dia or paramagnetic material ( any material which does not get attracted to magnets ) the object suddenly gets increased magnetic fields and it wants to oppose that so it generates an induced current in a direction which would make an emf ( electro magnetic field) opposite to direction of the magnetic field of original magnet to nullify it's effect and in doing so, it repels the magnet upwards and decrease its acceleration ( a

The MRI uses huge amounts of electricity for every examinations btw. Michael was missing a key part of an MRI. The on and off turning of the gradient coils inside the machine which help generate the images eventually. You get those by running electricity through some copper coils basically and switching the polarity quickly. That's what causes the noises as well.

Actually the water forms a very tiny dimple below the place where the magnet is causing the cereal to “fall” into the dimple and as u keep moving it, it keeps “following”. The iron in the cereal can also be a factor but i feel that the “dimple” is the major contributing factor

Due to the law of conservation of energy (there is nothing like freebie when it comes to the energy), the spinning of the magnet around a coil in an electric power generator needs more energy to push due to Lenz's law. This extra kick for generating electric power is provided by the mechanical energy from the water stored in dam in a hydroelectric power station (steam in thermal/gas/nuclear power stations).
