Everyone forgets to take into account that back in the day a stock rig possibly could have made Rubicon. Now with everyone using 35, 37s, 40s+ tires, it's all dug out and the landscape has drastically changed since then. It changes every single year as bigger and bigger rock crawlers push massive boulders in different spots making the trail more and more difficult.

I was one of those guys who didn't see the value. But I have to tell you, between DED, Roadkill, Roadkill Garage, Hotrod Garage, Engine Masters, Drift This, etc etc etc, I am more than happy with my subscription. It's dedicated gearhead content made by gearheads without the b.s. drama that tv shows try to add in. These are people that get it, and they deserve my money. Of course there are dozens more shows on MTOD that I don't watch, but maybe one day I will get around to checking them out.

I've always wanted to run the Rubicon, today that dream has been crushed, if I never see the Rubicon I will still die happy.

I’ll never forget the day I took my stock ‘88 YJ on the Rubicon. Only went about 2 miles in. It was insane enough for me. But...the stock YJ made it!

That Chevy should have had a set of knobby pizza cutters like they had back in the day.

That's a fun ride, used to go in off Wentworth springs Rd as well as loon lake jump off. Had friends who started it all back in the day. When stick was what there was! Keep Just Empty Every Pocket!

13:51 Nice! Coleman 200a single mantle lantern. Since the frame rest has not vent holes and does not have user instructions printed in it, and the vent is a low hat, that's probably a late 60's early 70's 200A......which is period perfect for the jeep. I restore old coleman lanterns.

Suddenly my 69 CJ on 32” tires is looking pretty Rubi Ready! Just have to rebuild my 8274 and build a tire/Jerry holder and good to go. I was thinking 38’s and ARB lockers before. Don’t want to bring a Naval Destroyer to a pool party

That and convince my buddy he doesn’t need 35’s, lockers, gears and a 6” lift on his LC80.

You should probably lock it. Freds Jeep had aftermarket lockers front and rear.

But I was looking at the full-size Chevy making it through. Don’t get me wrong. I love having lockers. Had Ected front and rear on my Blazer and did real good. But a Jeep just breezes places a full-size has to muscle. Even without lockers. I am still amazed at how few places require me to really work the Jeep vs nearly point and shoot with the locked Blazer. Also bang and grind with the Blazer.

I think most of us "Jeep" guys don't really consider a Compass or a Liberty a Jeep. It's more or less is a Jeep when it's got a solid front axle regardless of which Jeep, that's when it's a buildable performable platform to work with.

Let's just take a minute to pour one out for that poor square. I was excited to see how it would do, but I died a little inside with each bit of body damage. I LOVE squares, and clean ones like that simply do not exist where I live in New England unless they've been brought up from out west, or restored. Either way, they are $$$. On the other hand, it did AWESOME! That thing was a BEAST! I'd feel better about the body damage if they did another epis0de and really built it, and did some more wheeling trips with it. Unfortunately, this was probably just a throwaway for them, like when they wrecked that clean K5 for Cheap Truck Challenge a few years back. This was may favorite show, btw, I miss watching these on YT every month. Still not sure if I want to subscribe, it's not even about the money, it's just the point of th thing and the hassle of having yet ANOTHER subscription service.
