Crabtree 22 yard frame pin replacement and hole repair. Making a hole fit a bushing again. Lots of redneck bore welding and heavy part moving.

@garyjarvis27303 жыл бұрын
Given the owners of the equipment probably never greased or checked the machine your repair is perfect. Doing an "as new" line bore and press fit would be a waste of time if it's going to be abused in the long run. If your viewers want to see some real crazy repairs, try Pakistani Trucks on KZbin. All of your critics will be silenced. Thanks for sharing.

I do lineboring for a living and if the customer said let's slide the bushing in and weld it I'm walking away should be a press fit.
@EEJester15863 жыл бұрын
I understand I didn't like the fit either, but I'm pretty sure from the factory these bushings had no press fit. The other side had little wear on it and it slid right out. Not a great design but it works.

@@EEJester1586 don't sweat it, you or someone else will be fixing it again in a couple years.... maybe sooner. those bushings are absolutely press fit!! without that press fit, that hard bushing is gonna wear that steel and wear it away causing movement and eventually break the bushings again. that's a line bore job all the way, or make a new ear with the bushings already press fit or at least machined.

So, it doesn't damage the Cylinder Rod that is on the Lower Pan when you blow that molten metal from the cut onto the Cylinder Rod?

It’s not good for it. I would suggest focusing your fire on it but it won’t hurt if you don’t let too much hit it.

Nice, I tend to slit the weld on a pin like that with a 9" slitting disc that way the faces are clean. Field repairs are tough so cap tipped to you. My friend gave me a home made extension for a grinder it is like a stub axle so you can get inside a bore with a small wheel.

Aloha, thanks for the video. Cool action shots. We just did a similar repair on a D7. Lots of build up and grinding. Our piece was worn a lot worse, so we bent 3/32" rods to build up the center of the hole first and kept the heat down. Afterwards they went strait in with some 1/8" rod. Then they ground a stone the same size as the new 4140 pin and did a poor man's line bore with the stone. It all worked out, but it took about three days! Keep spinning plates. Pick from a place of abundance. Keep them in your frame. You're a high value male with these skills.

Thank you. Yes sir I can weld with the other types of welding as well. MIG, TIG, and Flux core. I don't use them very offend because most of my work is big heavy and dirty.
