@@jmuller86 In my opinion, you should keep not selling it because to do earthworks in particular I think you mentioned in a video that you had to work the land to improve rainwater flow so I think that with a very large plot like yours you will regret it one day if you sell this big excavator so you should really keep it

Jesse, I know this is just your natural way of being with your son, but at 2 hours and 40 minutes when you said that your son was running the excavator better than some grown men you had seen, you said one of the best things you could ever say to him. My dad would tell me that from the time I was Noah's age. While I sometimes had a hard time believing him, I always swelled with pride and I remember that feeling to this day I'm on 50 one. Good on you Dad.

Yes I couldn’t agree more. My father did foundations while I was growing up and I would work with him when I didn’t have school. I remember him telling people that I was a harder worker than most grown men, and it really meant alot to me. My father had taught me so much growing up and I really loved all the time I got to spend with him while working.

Couldn't be more proud and each are so totally different except all have ethics and kindness.Helps others my youngest is a girl and nurse. She called the other day and said found a younger girl dead. She revived her.She called afterwards and she was so pumped and happy. Show them by example give them love encouragement a dads job! This post was so well written and hopefully helps a new father become a better dad. They sure do not come with instruction manual but letting them know how proud you are even when they screw up.Thats part of growing up wish people understood that better! Man, you got a good deal on that thing. As opposed to some farmer who bought a basket CASE. My only concern is the milky fluid and how the water got in. Possibly through the cylinder seals, but I would get that water out of there ASAP. Not good for the components, especially the pump. The only thing I have going for me is...mine is bigger! ;-)

Maybe you can find a hot water pressure washer with a good heating coil, if you can heat the oil above 160° it will drop out of the emulsion and separate, then you could use a gear pump to circulate that oil and filter it out.

Unless I’m mistaken those bucket teeth are tungsten carbide and are great for digging in hard and abrasive rock and you can now see why they weren’t replaced. You have come a long way since I first watched this channel, you really need to pre heat the metal b4 tacking especially when using MIG as it is highly susceptible to hydrogen cracking caused by water vapour mixing with the weld pool, this creates a brittle weld which will fail and result in a full weld failure. You do a great job of repairing and replacing the parts that a lot of people don’t want to tackle and thanks for sharing this process Jesse, your son is a natural and talented lad and I agree with your comment about him being better than some grown men, good to know that you have a future as Jesse and son. That machine will do many more productive hours for you or whom ever buys it if you don’t listen to your son 🏴👍🏻

I see you were struggling pretty bad with the rebuild on the cylinder gland and piston. My advice would be to run a bolt and plate through it so you can then clamp the bolt in a vise. I’ve done this a bunch and it makes it way way easier to work on them. Especially with today’s crazy seals. I’ve even spun down some solid bar stock to fit them on a couple occasions with nice round entry edges. Works wonders. Nice work though man.

Hello Jessie: you got it done and had some fun. Great seeing you take a little time with the boys when they show an interest. You used unconventional methods to do the repairs. They seem to have been successful. " Is it a bad idea if it Works" Regarding selling the machine, take your time. The real value of any asset is the price you can receive when you need to sell. Often much lower than the same piece of equipment if you have the luxury of time. I would scale your lowboy and find your sweet spot for transport. Then if this work well keeping it for larger jobs might be practical.Think about putting a thumb on the machine. With your skills it would be practice and resale Increase should more than cover the costs. Good luck. Keep the videos coming.

Oh man, that brought back nightmares. I was working on Bear Creek mine in Hope., Alaska. They had an old six 660, I think, 🤔 Porcelain and the tracks would come loose every day. I was a tough puppy back then, but when I had to change the tracks setting on banks of Bear Creek that tasted my metal. By hand I pulled the rusted pad bolts with a 1” breaker bar and a 21’ stick of 2” /120 gauge pipe. We had to grind down a D6 pin to fit when we would break a pin. Back In 1979 it really was “Two weeks from ‘EVERYWHERE’!! So we had to reuse the bolts we could save. Ya had to do what ya had to do to get the gold. That truly did Tax my metal.
