Neil's vocals on Furthest Star are what first introduced me to you guys. Something about that song spoke to me that made love it. But this song? Kate's vocals really sends it. I get a chill up my spine that goes up my spine, because i can just hear emotion behind each word. The shock and panic as realization sets in. The pain from what she did. The regret that this is a decision that would be carried with the portrayed character forever.

I love you guys so much really. And that each album is not only it's own cinematic story with the use of music, but also almost like their own genre of music. Honestly, I would donate a kidney just to at least ONE of these albums become an actual play/musical like those of Broadway status.

Lyrics: I shot a man, I heard him fall I heard his desperate dying call I saw his eyes grow dim in shade I saw his color drain and fade I didn't know that final blow Would claim his life and end it so I wash and wash to clean these hands Because I shot a man I shot a man, now all I see Is red, the shade of history It's love in blood and hate the same It burns my conscience with its flame I couldn't tell the requiem bell Would ring and bring this living hell Now heaven's heights I cannot span Because I shot a man I shot a man because I knew My darkest depths he peered into He saw inside this heart of sin He saw inside and still climbed in He looked at me and I could see The cost of immortality I shot him through the feet and hands My God, oh God, I shot a man

I must say that this song was already a chilling song while listening through it the first time, but when I heard the line "I shot Him through the feet and hands" it was almost like scales fell off my eyes and it suddenly became a lot more chilling. Listening through it another time confirmed to me this song is the single most chilling song I've ever listened to. And I mean that with the very highest compliments. I thank you Dirt Poor Robins for creating such a simple yet affective masterpiece with this song.

It's not often that a song stops me in my tracks, but this one absolutely did. And it's the first song on the album?! Sweet Jeebus, I'm sold. This band's very existence is a masterpiece.

This is probably still your most powerful song, in a vacuum. The Raven Locks requires you to actually listen to the whole thing a few times.

Oof! This is my favorite! The Eschaton in Thunderbird, cultivating the strength to endure Martyrdom in Scarecrow, showcasing that Beauty Will Save the World and teaching humility in Justice/Woe is Me are all excellent but this takes the cake!
