yes but the offys used in indy put out a ton of power once turboed, they are not shy, they might only be a 4 banger but for 30 years they ruled indy, and the turbos put out up to 1200 hp if the boost was all the way up, it was an old but soild design, hemi, duel overhead cam, barrel crankcase which made them hard to work on but with a monoblock engine could run a higher pressure, yea they used to run what ever they could find, I kind of miss the thought of a wild west large variety of engines like the cowboy days of indy before the 70s

How do the Australian chassis/engine combinations compare to their USAC counterparts? Closely competitive or are USAC cars a little faster?

The cars are the same. You can run the same midget car in USA, Australia and New Zealand. Some cheaper alternatives that are built locally. But all just as competitive with each other.

sorry Tmez I am a fan of arm restraints never was a problem with me, I can't believe the are not mandatory every track. Friend loss use of an arm from gettin squashed

I always raise them before full containment seats, but now with the seats, your arms can’t really go anywhere and it just makes the cockpit much tighter even for a little guy like me I’m only 5’6
