WE HAVE DUAL SPORT FEVER!!!! Dirt Bike Magazine VLOG 5 is here! We test the 2024 KTM 500EXC-F and the KOVE rally in the high desert with special guest Carson Brown. Travis buys a new Yamaha YZ250 two stroke for himself then we head out to Glen Helen Raceway to test the 2024 Beta 500RS dual sport and 2024 Husqvarna FE350S Dual Sport. Great job guys. I got a 24 500excf, and the first thing I did was get a seat concepts seat, instantly, that is a very stiff seat compared to anything I have ever owned. But the bike is really great, I haven't gone insane offroad yet, winter is slowly dying here in Wyoming but wow is it nice. It seems to use very little fuel too so the range might be one of the best I have owned.

👍nice video! i have a 2020 500 exc-f that i bought in july 2022,used, with 98h on it.. im now at 338.5h 🙂 it's a great bike! im using the dunlop D606 front and back, they work great for me!

How durable is the lighting, how good is the headlight, how visible is the bike from the side at night? Is the brake light decent or am I gonna get rear ended? I get it that your primary focus is the offroad capabilities, but for everyone else who isn't in the California desert, we have to live with these bikes on the street quite a bit more. There is quite a range in quality of the headlights between brands from what I can see. It looks like some bikes use a high quality LED while others are a cheap Halogen unit.

After owning a 2018 Beta 390 RRS I will never buy another Beta. Fuel issues and electronics issues that could never be fixed by multiple dealers. Hard pass.... I now own a 2017 KTM 350EXC-F and it is so much better in every single way.

The other beauty of dual sports is the ability to add soft panniers and a duffle and touring for days on end, linking together riding areas like this.

Another 350 vote here. 2023 Beta 350RR-S for me. Perfect blend of power and agility for a 53 year old who still wants to ride aggressively in the woods mixed in with some mild moto. And when your too tired to load it in the truck after a day of riding you simply ride it home and park it in the garage. Its a beautiful thing!

Dollar for dollar that Beta is the best on the market in my opinion. Would obliterate my KTM 500 when it was stock.

@@danieldemayo6209 brand new 2023, 390 RS blue motor at five hours. 500 R RS and 350 RS both head do you injection issues that were so bad you could barely ride the bikes they would just blame out and die all the time. Sputter like crazy. In the shop multiple times trying to get them dialed in. Those were my dad and uncle’s bikes. I bought a 2023, 200 race edition, and it had a counter, Shaft seal leak. A sprocket cover bolt came, stripped the map switch broke and defaulted to rain mode. And the speedometer quit working all within seven hours. I really liked the 200 race edition though but I sold it

Many years ago, Ktm had a Zeus fastener on the back of the seat which required no tools. It wasn’t a button which is convenient but for some reason they went away from it?

Remember Yamaha had those on their bikes for the air box for a couple years. They broke a lot from what we can remember. Would be cool to see a tooless seat on moto bikes for sure!

How often do the valves need to be checked on these bikes? I like to ride to the trails but am struggling to find anything with more than 30 hours. Frequent oil changes aren't an issue though

How do the 2024 KTM and Husqvarna 350s feel compared to each other? Which one would you guys prefer?

They are really close. One noticeable difference is PDS rear shock vs linkage . The KTM sits a little taller without linkage but can have an advantage in rocks with more clearance
