1 day I was on my way to town and I saw a guy I know out by the road working on his fence. As we was talking there was a backhoe working up in the field and it look like the guy was doing a good job and u know just doing what backhoe guys do. But then here it come down to us to see what he wanted him to do next. When he open the door u could hear the radio blasting. (Country music) out climbed his 7 year old son. Bret (the dad) told him to go up by the barn and clean up around it and off the little shit went.

WOW! You run ALL your equipment very well and I remain impressed with ALL the use you get out of the BACKHOE! Last year it did lots of digging for cable to Jim's new house (in ice & snow!) Actually started picking up the sticks in the yard last week when it was 66°s then had a few inches of snow and a few inches of sleet with ice on top. The trees got pruned again. Muddy winter with the freezing and thawing.

Heck yeah, get the kids on the equipment early!! For keeping the gravel on the driveway and out of the yard, look into "Edge Tamer" from R2 Manufacturing. With the amount of snow you likely get, they could be worth it. Love clearing snow (probably cause we don't get enough of it in DE to get tired of it, LOL)!!

Your son has good initiative in the machine. Happy to let it go slow as he gets the feel of it, then bump the throttle up a couple of times, just a little, as he gets more comfortable. Safe and full control. Better to take an extra 10 mins to do a job than spend 2 hours dragging equipment out of ditches.

If you're in the mood to plow..come on up here..we got around a foot...fluffy tho..plows easy..except all the previous snow melted where you plow and the ground is glare ice where it's been plowed before . I think you need a snow pusher ....I cut my plow time down at least 50%...I gained 50% in swath width and it don't roll of the sides like a bucket...and no cycle time dumping the bucket...makes it fun actually
