And fyi on the ISX the fuel pump and air compressor have to be timerd with the crank shaft and harmonic balance ...cummings is uses the harmonic balancer ,air compressor and fuel pump for dampening vibration on the crankshaft ..its OK to be one gear tooth off but no more or simply put it will let the crank shaft vibrate beyond acceptable levels and it will over time destroy the crank bearings .

For fuel pump the timing tool is needed but if its not available all I do is put the timing mark at a 45 degree angel towards the middle of engine if you are looking at the gear it should have a mark or a 0 that is what I always put at a 10 o'clock or 1030 u will feel it when it sits just right of course have the damper at the insert pin mark and u will be good
@Eljuancho9153 жыл бұрын
Only fuel pump is timed
@mikewasko49643 жыл бұрын
@@Eljuancho915 air compressor is timed also ..well for my 2010 isx .. When u buy a new air compressor it has the timing mark on the gear and typically will be etched in the gear and have white paint on it ..im 100% the engine has to be pinned and the timing mark gos at 12 o'clock on the compressor

Love your spirit man love the do it yourself attitude! Don’t want to sound like a KIA but let that lift pump fill your filter Cummins does not recommend pre filling , you can introduce dirt into the fuel system which can cause damage to those plungers in the pump as well as stick an injector open among other things. Have a good one!
