Being able to move the ratchet along the length of the strap is a very cool feature. I'll bet it would help prevent the jams and tangles that often arise from incorrectly threading the 'long end' of the strap through the ratchet.

Love this. This would help while trying to get high schoolers to organize a set of straps so they don't tangle while stowed away between marching shows. Also love the idea of a moving ratchet. Too many times they end up in hard to reach spots, or near the back door track on a truck.

Im loving your folding method for storage and your method of rolling up the unused material for safety!!

Very neat. I really like that it's able to slide along the strap to wherever you want. That said, I'm still going to have to side with good ol' rope. With a Trucker's Hitch, you can cinch down as tight as any ratchet strap and the rope can then be used elsewhere for other things. I do like this design better than any other ratchet strap I've ever seen, but I'll have to hold out until they're more commonly available and folks are reporting back on the durability of the ratchet mechanism itself.

DFJ, I agree on your assessment, however what worries me are the Plastic Parts, which are critical to using this ratchet strap, being exposed to the elements and breaking down. Thanks for this video, and all the best.

Thanks, Jerry. Indeed plastic on outdoor gear is susceptible to UV damage. I make a point to keep them stored out of moisture and sunlight. Good to hear from you! Best, DFJ

Even when stowed properly in moderately temperate climates, today’s plastic just does not last it becomes brittle in my experience without any UV exposure.

I’ll stick with my Husky straps, I’m used to them now, at my age, changing now only makes me crazy & makes me pull what little hair I have left out.
