used to be a restaurant manager in NYC (Korean).Out of curiosity, asked my pest control guy "what kind of restaurants are the worst?" he replied, " Indian restaurants are the worst of all and Chinese restaurant ". All the restaurants in NYC has some kind of problems but I don't eat unless I could see the kitchen from the dinning room. I once dined in a small mom and pop Thai Restaurant (now they are huge) called Wonder Siam on the 10th ave... in order to get to the restroom, youl'll have to pass through the kitchen. and they were so clean. no wonder they got big and making the bucks now.

That fried tomato dish perfectly sums up Indian food imo. Make a whole fried tomato, beautiful, then mash it all up with a bunch of other goop and shove it back into a fried bread shell. Everything is just mashed and watery. I guess you need your food to be in a liquid state when it goes in to aid with the inevitable diarrhea that accompanies all the salmonella and ecoli from the dirty fingernails of the person who mashed it for you.

I am an African. I have a colleague who did university in India. She confirmed everything I am seeing. She says she still feels like screaming at Indians she sees here at home. The lack of hygiene in Indian society is nothing she has ever come across. Says the dirtiest places at home, are in fact much better places in India.

I may sound kinda defending these sellers, but I'm gonna be honest. Actually indians want cheap food (especially when it's a roadside food). They don't wanna pay a single penny more to the fix market rate of a snack. So poor sellers have to compromise hygiene. And guess what, indians can eat dirty fast food but won't pay lil extra for hygiene.
