Dirtwheels Modified 450 Shootout - Kawasaki vs Yamaha vs Honda

Dirtwheels took the HONDA, KAWASAKI, and YAMAHA to both the dunes and track to compare the three 450 machines in a shootout. We got the help from ITP tires, Lonestar, and FMF exhaust to do an inexpensive hop up on each quad to see which one would perform better. +Luis Armenta they are pretty good. they are purpose built mx quads built for the track. they have pretty good power. not sure about reliability. i know a lot of racers who race the ltr and they seem to like it

Ltr 450 is a great quad. Awesome on mx tracks and outrides. Handling is great. Parts widely available and not expensive. Easy to upgrade and to add better aftermarket parts. Ltr makes handeling your bitch since its lower and wider. Its a bit slower then the yfz450 but a nice pipe will do the trick☝️

+amoulet69 yamaha for sure. it comes widened already which the other 2 are not. it has the best suspension out of the 3, and its very reliable. stock tires are pretty good. i race quads and i used the new stock yfz450r back tires and they worked surprisingly good. got the holeshot with them. for sure go with the yfz

Any 2006 trx 450 stock only does 72.9 been confirmed more than once the kfx is the most restrictive 450 stock intake and exhaust is very choked and they go only 71mph. The 2009-2013 yfz could achieve 74mph the 2014-current only does 73 from what I’ve seen due to shitty ais and poor ecu. My opinion you looking for the best out of the box performance on a race ready 450 get the 2008-2009 ltr 450 for 50 bucks a cherry bomb air box lid removal and baffle removal they peak 50.8hp the Honda is so outdated and takes the most money to compete with a modern yfz,ltr, or can am

Tbh they couldn’t compare the kfx or ltr to the yfz until 2009 when it finally became fi they just waited until it did. After that some channels talked shit about all the other 450s and be thinking Yamaha is the best. The 06-08 carbed yfz450's are great quads. 04 & 05 had the issue requiring the oil mod but the carbed yfz450 are nice machine and are easy to get power out of definitely comparable to the other 450s. I like the trx450,kfz450,ltr450 but yamaha rule's the 450 scene overall,I think Suzuki could have hands down kept to top spot if they still produced them cause they built a great quad. Jmo

Yes, ok I fell in love, BUT is this road legal ? indicators, number plates etc. ? I wanted to buy enduro bike, but in my country (PL/EU) with driving licence B I can drive all cars (3.5t) and 125cc bikes only ;/ ... and surprisingly all quad/atv, this is quite perfect for me, because we have here pretty snowie winters, going to work on this kind of stuff will be possible - motorcycles ? codcade I believe Kawasaki cut their 450 from the 2015 lineup. I know they don't make Suzuki's anymore, I was just jokingly saying that an Ltr would win this shootout. I think the Yfz450r's are pretty on par with the Ltr, but the Kawi and Honda don't come close, they weren't better in 08 and even though you can buy them new today, they haven't changed anyways.
