This is an event I wish to do before my riding days end. Turning 60 in 3 months and still feeling great overall, but recently diagnosed with a degenerative disc issue in the cervical spine. Good thing is, it hasn't been much of an issue on the bike. For everyone that's done this event, I'm happily envious and I'll be joining you one day.

Just launch yourself into it. Super well supported event. You'll be great. I did it myself last year, I have a spinal fusion, 1/2 a right knee, not to mention not long out of another awful recovery from big abdominal surgeries... I did it with 2 friends--one had crashed 2 weeks earlier and broken several ribs. He finished in 10 hours. You can do it. Prepare yourself and just go do it. The finish is a tremendous reward for us olders. (We're all over 50)You can overcome!

@h20s8804 Yup, that's my plan. I'm pretty effective at ignoring barriers to fun. You and your pals sound pretty tough to compete and finish after all that! I better renew my passport...coming down from Canada. See you on the course and thanks for the encouragement.

Great job to Justin O'Dell for taking on these monumental tasks as a youngster. He has a great mentor/Dad that I'm sure has some influence on this. The greatest race promotor Ohio has ever seen (Him and Tom). We need a mountain bike hall of fame for such people so they can be recognized for their efforts to keep racing alive.
