That was a very tidy makeover in the hands of an expert with more products that I have not come across. I have recently had the pleasure of looking after another three of my neighbours cars and another bought a new car and now wants to discuss what is best for it's protection. It's just a pity that the days are shorter and dry days are at a premium. My latest favourite product is Gyeon Cure as a topper to Gyeon Wax that I use on cars other than my own as the water behaviour stands out and the topper just enhances it and is so easy to use. I can't get over people allowing their cars to be covered in bird lime but I guess that is where detailers make a living.

Great content as always, so satisfying to see the transformation taking shape as you work your magic, I learn something from every single video. Quick question, what is the secret to layering products, I always worry that they might not play nicely together, especially across brands, are there are do’s and do not’s?
@AutoCareHQАй бұрын
Thanks very much Stephen! That's a good question tbf, there's not necessarily a straightforward answer though haha. Ideally it's best to stick to the same brand to be sure they'll work well together but many products from different brands work well together too. Applying a panel wipe solution before layering any sealants is a good idea, just to make sure no residue is causing problems. There's also the risk of overloading the paintwork with too many products which can then lead to streaking etc. I think using a stronger sealant/ coating every 4-6 months, and then topping up with either a spray and rinse sealant or QD every month is about right for most vehicles
@stephencollins7714Ай бұрын
@@AutoCareHQ thank you very much for sharing your wisdom, good idea re sticking to a single brand and I guess fundamentally, all of these products are safe to use on cars so it is unlikely that they cause any damage when combined. Keep the great content coming. 👍

Hello Heather. Great video as ever and very informative. One question - what are the plates under the wheels and who supplies them.. seems like a great idea as I have to wash my car on a gravel surface.
@3091mgАй бұрын
They are from a company called RimMats, they are brilliant as they raise the car slightly, so you can avoid muck spraying back up off the ground. Also allows you to dress the whole tyre, as there’s usually a little section of the tyre on the ground you can’t really get to. Once you’ve used them a couple of times you’ll wonder how you went without them, I use them on all vehicles now

Awesome work! What's the minimum amount of microns of material would you recommend a car should have before doing any paint correction or coating?
@AutoCareHQАй бұрын
Thank you! If the readings are below 80 microns I would be a bit more concerned and would generally avoid anything too heavy. On newer cars though it can be a bit tricker, I was ceramic coating a brand-new Mazda earlier this year which only had 50-60 microns from factory which is absolutely terrible. With that vehicle I just did a very light machine polish to remove clay marring (fortunately it wasn't washed at the dealership so no major scratches) so in this case I was only removing about 1 micron

@@IwillBwaiting pads mitts clothes all the same, thanks
@Ally.MacMillanАй бұрын
Clay bars are better IME, but many pros will use the cloths, mitts etc. as they are much quicker and time = money. Nowadays, the newer mitts and cloths mark the paint much less. It's been said some mild clay bars don't mark the paint either, but you could say that if you don't mark the paint, then you didn't really pick up any contamination. It's an absolute minefield.
@AutoCareHQАй бұрын
I tend to use clay bars on cars which have heavier contamination. Clay mitts/ pads/ cloths etc. aren't usually as abrasive so have the benefit of reducing marring but can glide over more stubborn contamination
