I've had my RH25 for just over 18mo now (Dec 2022). Mine is set in front of a NF NX8 1-8 on a Q HB SBR w/TC. I use it every evening to check on my herd. The setup is lightweight and quite. I keep my HB slung, and use the RH25 hand held. Once I spot a coyote it is fast to clip-on and engage. Several coyotes later, I can say that I couldn't imagine not having this unit. Sig just announced a competitor to this and it will be interesting to see how it compares. Guys, make sure to buy at least 640 rez like this unit has. I know it costs more, but you need it. This review is accurate, fair, and inline with my observations.

I doubt anyone will read this, but just FYI--I did the same return to zero tests with the AGM Sting-IR 384 in front of a Delta Stryker-1-6 using the standard thumbscrew mount, and got outstanding results; no discernable zero shift in 4 different iterations. There's a write-up on arfcom in the NV tech section if you want to see pics/more details. One other note--people should be aware that many LAM's sit high enough on the rail to block part of the thermal sensor on these clip-ons. I had to drop another $2k on a DesignateIR-V after I found that my DBAL was blocking the bottom 1/3 of the thermal sensor on the StingIR, which was mounted using the tall factory thumbscrew weapon mount. It definitely affected usability. So if you want to run a LAM + thermal clip-on, you'll want to verify that it sits low enough on the rail to not obstruct the sensor (assuming you prefer to run the LAM on the top rail).

Even though its pricey you should consider the Eotech Clip on series. While more expensive they have much better image quality and really give you that tool your looking for when buying a clip on. I own the LR model and its been a good option all around. Only disadvantages I have found are that its heavy and needs atleast 3x day time magnification to work.
@GldenRetriever2 ай бұрын
The Eotech ClipIR (50 or 75mm version) aren't better. They are different. You can't compare a close range thermal to a long range thermal. objective size determines field of view, which usually is followed by a larger base magnification. And like you said, it's a larger, heavier, more expensive unit that isn't as versatile.

Good point I think hunting is better for stationary locations while like multicam etc is better for movement as well as more universal. + most hunting camp stuff doesn’t have IR camo built in from my knowledge (however tf that works)
@John_4392 ай бұрын
Depends the gear and how it is made and treated. NEVER use fabric softener or dryer sheets on NIR cloths and wash them the same way US issued kit says to wash to protect NIR. I hunt in multicam or others occasionally. Usually pants with a area specific top as it is what shows over the brush the most. Hunting cloths also aren't made the same and for the same mission so they don't always work. They can also be better too though. The best way to test the cloths is go wear it and if you have NVGS test it. Run it with your kit, get hot, cold, sweaty, dirty, wet, etc... see how it does in comparison.
@GWOTalchem2 ай бұрын
Because military camo is designed to work in a wide variety of terrain. Hunting camo is very very region specific, works great in a single specific region/terrain, but terrible everywhere else. Additionally pocket layout and other design features are not well suited for crossover use.
