I did genology research on my family tree and found out I'm descended from a guy that was illegitimate and his father was unknown. He was born in 1854 and took his mother's last name. I took a DNA test on family tree DNA and found out my y chromosome was matched to the Robinson family. After realizing the connection I found out a Robinson family lived in the same area at the time! I haven't figured out which one might have been his father. All this was done via the Internet! Even he probably didn't know who his father was!

ngs from Switzerland! You mention Rudabaugh's name originally been "Rodenbach" which I suspect derived from "Rotenbach" a name that sounds very Swiss to me. So the bandit could very well be one of my fellow countrymen as many of them emigrated to the US or even were sent there for being considered bad apples that the authorities wanted to get rid of cheaply by buying them a one way ticket to America, which was a common practice in 19th century Europe.

I say par, one helluva storyline and as usual, well spoken! You NEED to do a story on Rowdy Joe Lowe out of Newton, Kansas. He was a saloon owner, gun for hire, obnoxious A-hole...😄 He frequented the Delano District on the westside of the Arkansas River in Wichita. This was our saloon and bordello house district in the Wild West days. He was supposedly arrested by Wyatt Earp when he became a short term constable in Wichita while visiting his brother, James. That's all that I know. But, you have the connections to bring this character to life.

I don't know about that. Jesse Evans was also someone Billy feared. He was actually afraid that Evens would assassinate him and voiced that fear to Governor Lew Wallace... and for good reason. What makes it more fascinating is Jesse and Billy were friends at one point and ran in the same gang and what's wild about it it is Jesse is probably the very one that shot John Tunstall starting the Lincoln County war. And what makes it even MORE fascinating is Jesse escaped prison and then just DISAPPEARED!!! Literally. He escaped and no one ever heard from him again. Jesse Evans is a FASCINATING story that hardly no one covers and he's all over the Billy the Kid story arch.

I heard he was called dirty Dave rudabaugh because he did not like to take a bath and it was said you knew he was coming before you seen him. But is nasty is that seems it wasn't all uncommon back in for men that lived outside or on the trail to not have a lot of baths. Hygiene was a problem back in the day even by people who babe because there was no air conditioner so you sit around in hot climates and sweat all the time. Because of that even the prostitutes must not have been all that appealing.
