Every time you open the hatch to free the laying hens I am reminded of a clown car emptying, lol. Love the videos you are living my dream only larger I’d be happy with a quarter of the critters with a couple more species included but all the land, currently live in apt. so acres away from neighbors is like a dream, lol.

@@Ken_Stauder chickens are pretty hilarious on their own, my neighbor keeps a few and I often find them on my porch(it’s a shared space) and find them in my wild things feeder where I put my leftover parrot pellets and seed/grains for the birds and squirrels, everyone loves my leftovers, lol. In cold weather I add veggie and fruit trimmings, we have some seriously chonk squirrels these days and they seem extra healthy don’t see any patchy squirrels here anymore(squirrels are just solid not fat). Plus the extra calcium can’t be too bad for the wild birds I alway felt bad about just throwing away expensive food.

Hey Pete, Maybe you should plan to raise a litter of feeder pigs to sell out to other smaller homesteaders just one or two at a time to finish off. Since you like raising pigs and do a great job getting nice litters (and your pigs are such nice quality), that would give a smaller homesteader who wanted to just purchase one to finish out and butcher their own at the weight and the cuts they wanted. Also, it keeps your costs down on feeding out the piglets and processing them. Honestly, a nice weanling pig like you have should be going for about $100 a piece. A litter of 9-10 piglets would net about $10,000 which would pay for momma's feed and part of Big John's for the year at least. Just a thought.
