I wasn’t alive when it happened but based on documentaries and video essays I’ve seen on it it was one of the worst music festivals ever for several reasons including extreme heat, countless rape and sexual assault allegations, overflowing port-a-potties (that people mistook for mud, so some chose to slather themselves with it), absurd prices for vendors, and an angry crowd that set several fires and demolished sound towers and the walls surrounding the main stage out of anger and frustration. On top of that, 3 deaths were reported. The irony was that the original Woodstock represented peace and love among the crowd.
