Dirty Kia Sportage | Exterior and Interior Decon Wash and Protection

In this video i take on a bit of a disaster detail, a friends car was in need of a good clean they gave me a call, so in exchange for some beers i got to work.
During the wash process i used only @GarageTherapyOfficial products which i have listed below with some non-affiliated links if you want to try them for yourself.
With the time i had to work on this car im really pleased with how it came up, next time round it really does need a good clay bar and polish but for now its still looking fantastic.

Very nice, believe it or not but I’ve actually went back to using my phone recently, got a new one and the quality is on a par with my good camera. The wind also blew my tripod over one day and broke the headphone Jack in the camera so that doesn’t help

@@DavidMcBay 100% the camera on my phone is brilliant cannot fault it but for close up shots with the cinematic look it lacked in , I've been playing with different camera combos for months now and after last few videos really happy, altho filmed to day pretty much all on my phone due to forgetting to charge batterys 😂

@DavidMcBay hi mate, I'm bamboozled by it, it seems dead already. I don't think it was an application error, I did all the correct things, the only thing I didn't do was machine polish, but the car was 8 months old at the time and had a few thousand miles, I didn't think it was necessary. I've done a chemical decon and cleaned with IW Refresh, but it didn't come back. So I've layered Mile Deep Shield on it now and that's doing what it should. I'll get it to the spring and then get the machine polisher on it, and try again. It'll be very interesting what happens next year. Seriously, top man for remembering that, fair play to you. 😁

@@decker0373 Thats really strange mate, so how many months and how many miles in are you with it now? it might be worth giving it a blast with some fallout remover followed by the refresh next time you clean it to see if that rings it back atol.

@DavidMcBay I got 5 months before large sections were dead, mainly the flat panels. That car doesnt do much mileage at all, probs no more than 4k a year. I did hit it with fall out and the Refresh before deciding to use the Shield. I don't really get it, it has to be that I didn't polish it, I'm sure I installed it correctly, but I'm a novice, as you know, so there's always the chance I simply made a hash of it 🤣. How's the mini running? I see her photo bomb the Kia clean 😊

Dave would GT Decon shampoo get rid of water spots ?

It really depends on what area you live in and how hard your water is. I normally don’t have an issue with water spots being in Scotland, they tend to come off with a normal shampoo. If you are struggling with them though GT have just released a water spot remover that would probably do the best job

Hi mate. The car looks really good at the end there. I always pick up a tip when I watch somebody else do a detail that I think might be worth incorporating intro my wash procedure and today was no different. Using the turbo cleaner that I have only used for washing driveways but if you say it works its good enough for me to at least try it. The wee blue turbo bit you used looks neat I wondered where you got it. I do have the Karcher one but it means removing my stubby gun but if I had a wee nozzle with quick release it would be handy. I have not used Sigma or CS for ages as I always use wax on my cars but must try it again on other cars. I have not used any V2 GT products yet but I have so much product to get through it may be a while before I get a chance to put in an order. I have been using my Autobrite Citrus at the higher dilution to good effect after our last discussion. I look forward to your next offering. Thanks again for the tip.

Hi John, i was really pleased with the turnaround on this one. The turbo nozzles are great for the carpeted liners, the one im using i got from KDN detailing its a great bit of kit and brings up the monoblock just as well as the arches haha. Im just about out of my Autobrite Citrus but the way things have been going with the GT version im considering investing in 5L of it next.

Hi mate I had to give you an update. I was detailing the i-Pace yesterday as it was due it's MOT today and I thought hey I'm going to try that trick on the arches as back & front are carpeted so I did and it worked a treat cleaning off ingrained dirt as if it had never been there. That is a genius hack and I had to thank you for that one and I have passed it on in the interim and credited you in my comment. Thanks again.@@DavidMcBay

Brilliant @@johnbrown3951 im glad it worked well for you, i used to detest doing the carpeted liners but since discovering that method they are a breeze now, just need to be careful not to hit any paint work as that attachment could do some damage lol
