Hi thank you so much for your set up advice. I bought my bandsaw and, as you said, just started trying to cut wood. My glasses are just like yours and found the instructions quiet hard to follow and the photos were dier. I now realise from your tutorial that the thing need setting up before I dove in to using it. This video really helped me out so thanks again. My new little hobby has ended up in being quiet expensive. I have bought several hobbyist machines, and even built a rather large shed to accomodate them, but im looking forward to actually creating something soon. Im practicing on my workshop benches and cabinets for now though but people like you keep me enthusiastic to try and carry on so keep up the good work. I am keen on how you approach the new table and fence. I have watched several vids and am collecting some ideas to plod on with it.....many thanks again.

Hi Kelvin, Still experimenting with it and ound it fulfiills my needs as long as I restrict the max thickness of stock to about 25mm. It does tend to wander off line when using the guide due to the thin blade. Apart from that I'm still happy!

Thank you, Just what I was looking for. Seriously, it is. Recieved this yesterday, spotted it the other day, Jumped at the chance of getting one. Was 2nd hand, looks like it was used once, if it was, blade is missing and rubber tyre has snapped on bottom (9")wheel. When Blade and tyre turn up, it will be all go. Band saw is spotless inside and out, looks like whoever used it ran into a problem possibly during setup, breaking the belt and blade. Band saw came supplied in original box, no other damage to saw or other components. Many thanks for noting the set up problems and your work arounds for them, Information on these band saw is hard to get just now, not many reports or reviews around. I did notice however that the bandsaw comes in two variations, one quoted as 8 inch wheel one quoted as 9inch. This in turn affects the length of the blade needed, Blades are 1425 and 1575 both being 6.35 x 0.3mm. Cant wait to see her up and running, Any other information you can supply would be much appreciated. I can't get a response from DPT, they dont have much info regarding the bandsaw online either (parts etc) However once again many thanks for the video and run through much appreciated.

Thanks Rob, glad it was useful and thanks for letting me know. Good luck with your band saw! I have used it for a bit now and have decided for 30mm plus stock, it is really only suitable for curves. The thin blade means it tends to wander when ripping which makes it difficult to cut straight. I'm happy with it, but am now renovating an old table saw for mitres and ripping thicker material.

@@rcsart6409 No problem, you're welcome, I have been wanting a hobby one now for a while, Dec ided not to let it go. Not for anything heavy, using for shaping 3 - 6mm Plywood etc, for pyrography, will see how it goes, if I get round to it later, will try taking the blades up a bit in size, but dont usually go above A4 6mm, I cant complain, with replacing the blade and 1 tyre I still come out less than 50% Am. Good luck with the Table saw.

Thanks Phil, I will do a follow up when I have used it a bit more, but so far it is fine for what I want. Thanks also for the suggestion on sponsorship! However, I would urge caution if you are looking to work with thicker material and want straight cuts as the thin blade does wander, currently using a table saw to give me these options, but the band saw is great for curves.

@@rcsart6409 thanks for your reply, yeah im on the total understanding that its a cheaper alternitive to spending thus will give me the old, you get what you pay for, looking to do simple jobs, first being the making of a thin ply or mdf car race track for the boy, i'll leave the finer details for the good old sanding block. Anyway keep up whatever your doing, because at the end of the day its about the enjoyment of it.

Thanks! Good luck. I find it fine for what I need, but have delayed making guides for more accurate work, instead I spent time renovating an old table saw, which allows me to be more accurate, as well as deal with larger stock. I also have a cheap scroll saw, so between the three, I am covered for what I want to do. I put it on a trolley stand, on the other end from my small bench drill. It's on my list to do an update video!

Hi sorry for the delay! I have mounted it on a trolley, along with my scroll saw. Must admit I have repaired a table saw so I can deal with thicker timber, so the bandsaw is used mostly for thinner materials which it deals with well. I also have a little cross cut sled on the table saw.
