I think the extra bit is a stop for cutting multiple lengths the same length in a row. Just ordered one of these, it looks good for the money especially with the extra versatility of the upright table.

Hopefully you have a bit more success with being able to use the upright table 👍 I've not needed to use mine so getting that bit to work hasn't been a priority so far but the saw itself has been great!

BTW the first thing I did was take the gearbox cover off, as sometimes these saws can apparently come with 1. No oil 2. Contaminated oil 3. The oil really needs changing to a good quality gearbox oil. 4. The worm drive shaft can come with burrs on it which damage the soft wheel & also then causes 2 above! Mine was OK but the oil will be changed before I cut anything with it.

Thanks for the informative & helpful vid. My dirty pro tools saw came with a damaged power cord, painted over rust (from the factory) & most importantly the saw blade had been deflected behind one set of the guide bearings. *Had I not checked everything before first switch on* & noticed this, I expect the blade would have taken out the bearing and/or itself. I ended up taking the blade pulley cover off and the guards to realign absolutely everything & make sure nothing was damaged by the displacement. I think the displacement of the blade was possibly done in the factory as there was no signs of damage to the box.

Did you get the same model? Did you have any issue getting the screws out of the guide rail to attach the base plate for the upright position? I'll be doing another review on this soon as I've had it for a year now 👍

@@awesomecreationschannel Yes exactly the same. I could get those screws out (but after watching your vid had my impact driver on standby :0) One tap for those 2 screws though is way off vertical, so I suspect what has happened to yours is worse and the action of bodging on the small plate on top of that misaligned screw in the factory has caused the problem. My misaligned tap will clearly not withstand much screwing in and out for swapping of plates before it gets stuck like yours or the tapped thread strips :(

@@awesomecreationschannel Yes, that type is one of the few saws available on Ebay UK at present, the Clarke version of the saw seems to be unavailable. Just as well I watched some vids on removing the main pulley cover & saw blade alignment etc as well, so I spotted the whole blade misalignment issue going on!!

I bought this machine and Im not really happy with it as the grip that holds the cutting belt is not good enough and the blade adjuster gets loose itself and it caused a lot of problems and it stopped all my work and when I ask for a refund or return they were charging me for the return.

That is really unfortunate, when you say the cutting belt, do you mean the bandsaw blade? Also which bit do you mean by blade adjuster? The tensioner or the camber adjusters?
